Potter going to Chelsea always sounded a bit of a risk. Judging by the performance yesterday so many matches under Potter for Chelsea, the team just seem to give up far to easy, 15 minutes to go there 0-2 down to Villa and you got a Chelsea player walking to take a throw in. Players just never performed for him, looked disinterested possible not keen on being coached by Englishman...who knows?

Potter decent manager but Chelsea was step to high for him, Leicester a perfect fit I think... just hope Spurs don't go sniffing round... though I think there already waiting on a Poch return.

Bielsa to chelsea in the summer perhaps?

Brighton went an entire calendar year without a win. So if Potter comes here needs time and patience. He'll get Hythe usual initial bounce but this team needs a rebuild.

Agree It was a bit nit picky

was just the way you wrote it I guess!

others have made the point that his teams don’t score enough but if they create loads of chances then how is that his fault ?

Fair enough.

I'm not sure to be honest, maybe he spends so much time coaching the build up play and patterns he wants he negates the actual finishing part:dunno:

Maybe he reads too much into xG (not criticising the stat before I start up the debate)

Maybe he has a great eye for creative players but not for one that can actually put the ball in the net.

I can only really speculate. But he never went out to get a goal scorer at Brighton despite it being an obvious issue and it also followed him to Chelsea. I'm not saying I'd turn my nose up at him in the summer should we stay up. I just think right now it's not a gamble worth taking.

Just a note on ‘manager to be sacked’ odds in the future

both potter and rodgers were odds against this morning

kudos to leicester and Chelsea’s internal structures for keeping things quiet

They spent £13m sacking Tuchel, £21m to Brighton for Potter, gave him a £10m a year 5 year contract, spent £606m on players, only gave him 7 months and will now pay a significant severance sum.

God knows what they've spent in agents too.

Their spending is disgusting.

In many ways premier league football is disgusting. I know he is our GOAT, but we are paying Vardy £7.3 million per year. It’s just obscene

Yet that's all within Financial Fair Play apparently

I’m not sure the sacking figures are all correct.
and yes it’s another number to stick on the debit column to be covered by summer player sales to stay within ffp

SUNDAY marked the first time in eight years that TWO Premier League managers lost their jobs on the same day - and remarkably Brendan Rodgers was involved in both.

Oddly though Boehly has actually invested in and assisted lots of teams (and even regimes)  with his largesse. Atleti. That Portuguese lad.  Us. The Ukrainian army. Brighton close to 100m.  Even Ambromovic has been helped by his Brewster's millions approach to life

He's a great player but I'm sure these "records" have only been mentioned when Harry Kane has been involved.
