Iversen has to come in.

Southampton have taken the plunge with Gavin Bazunu who is 20 and had never played above League One. I’d like to think Iversen is better than him.

I am not sure it is fair to blame Danny Ward. He has not shown to be worldclass, far from it, but he has been a loyal second choice keeper finally given a chance. He has been let down by the poor defensive set up in front of him. Not great when you are just starting to be given a chance. He needs time to build that confidence and he needs help from all of us fans. I am not saying we have him forever and not give Iversen a go, but we don’t need to demonise him.

Demonising also gives Rodgers yet another excuse I have now been hearing he tries to come up with: that he was not given the funds to replace Kasper! No, Rodgers, you need to sort out our tactics and team mentality first and your constant media bashing of the team and the owners to hide your problems does not help.

“Loyal second choice keeper.” I mean, if I was picking up £60,000 p/w to turn up to training at Seagrave and not actually play, then I reckon I would be loyal.

If you look at his career appearances, there is evidently a lack of ambition as he has never looked to get a first choice role, minus Huddersfield perhaps. Quite frankly, he is rubbish and has been found out massively.

One of the arguments I’ve heard for dropping Ward is that it’d basically end his career. Ie it would be such a vote of no confidence that he couldn’t come back from it.

I do get that, but I think it’s gone past that. Ward has been SO poor that if Iversen is going to come in and improve us, it needs to happen.

it was something I said, I was talking about his career here, but that's over as soon as Rodgers goes anyway, now had enough games for it to be a fair judgement too

Whats the issue here? When you're bad you're bad. If i killed 5 people as a construction worker even ny accident I'm still liable. That's the real world equivalent of what he's done

It’ll cause catastrophic damage to us if we persist with him.

End his career is a laugh, he'd just go back to what he's been doing his whole time with us wouldn't he, sitting on his arse. The fact we didn't go with Iversen from the off is baffling really

Perhaps he could be backup to Conrad Logan at Anstey Nomads?

Don't get your hopes up on Ward being dropped any time soon under Rodgers. Rodgers persisted with Perez for what felt like an eternity before accepting he wasn't good enough.

Defending is a collective yes and you can't pin the blame solely on Ward but horrific positioning, actively getting out the way of shots and dropping defenders in it with underhit passes then mouthing off at them are not collective issues.

Backing Ward is a bit ridiculous, what must you be thinking if you’re Iversen? One of the all time worst premier league goalkeepers based on the last few months form, and you can’t get a sniff?

Yes defending is a collective issue but his positioning and save attempts look like a five year old is controlling him with a Playstation controller on FIFA / PES.

Definitely not dropping him is he?

Made his bed backing him and now will defend him until he is sacked

Remember though, apparently competition for places is important and the lack of transfer activity has affected this. Although, competition for places isn't applicable to Danny Ward, only when it suits Rodgers lack of transfers excuse. Blokes a clown, Rodgers is the type of bloke who'd have the choice of the same item by different sellers on Amazon and opt for the one with 1 star reviews over the one with 5.

Starting to think he has no interest in winning the game, and just wants out.

Everyone can see Ward's a liability. His PSxG – GA is the worst in the league.

21st - Danny Ward (Leicester): –6.1
Games: 7
Shots on target faced: 36 (4th)
Goals conceded: 22
Expected goals against: 14.9
Saves percentage: 41.7 (20th)

I'd be thinking hang on in there. I'm in once this stubborn pr1ck is gone.

Challenging start is spot on.

Ward has gone from doing fcuk all to being in the firing line of playing football and guess what you midget fcuk?

He isn't upto it.

What is the point of having a 2nd choice keeper if he cant get a game despite the 1st choice being abysmal?

Wow, I genuinely thought he was going to drop Ward for Monday. The thought of seeing that clown on the bench has been keeping me going through work all week

Tbf people can't criticise Rodgers for publically calling out players and they criticise him for publically backing a player.

It's calling out the 'wrong' players though that's the issue. Alienating them.

I doubt anyone would have had an issue if he did criticise Ward or call him out. There'd be the right justification for doing so. It's great he backs him, but for how long? How many errors will need to be made and potentially cost us points and the team points while he stays?
