If your getting nervous every time the ball is played back to your goalkeeper then that is a pretty big hint that he should not be a number one.

I’m holding back at the minute because of the absolute calamity of a team that is playing in front of him right now. His mindset looks as panicked as the 10 in front of him.

I find it hard to have a go at him when teams are cutting through us at will.  He was horribly exposed at times today, any decent PL striker would put away the chances we gifted them regardless of who was in goal.

Ward is what I would be like if picked to play in goal in the Socceraid match

I think I'd rather have Patrick Kielty in goal than Ward

I've seen a few people say he is "the least of our problems".

He is an absolutely massive problem amongst a litany of other massive problems.

No leadership, no presence, average distribution and no outstanding shot stopping ability. Not to mention he will throw in a howler fairly regularly.

It's a bad situation we have at GK generally, but Iversen now deserves a chance.

100% has to be dropped but Iversen is not the answer…..I cannot believe we did not sign Kasper or buy a replacement

 The good old days :)

Kasper saved our bacon a lot last season. I didnt agree with the criticism he got.

But where Kasper would make himself as big as possible, spread arms and legs out he would often get something on it. Noticed today that Ward actually flinches away and turns his back, making himself smaller.  His positioning during the free kicks was appalling. He invited MacAllister to hit that in the top corner because he was so far out to one side.

A good free kick is a good free kick, no keeper gets to that. If he stands further behind the wall, MacAllister goes the other side and we blame him being behind his wall.

The rest of his day was a nightmare though.

He was stood behind the wall tho. He used the wall to cover the left hand side of the goal and then also stood in the left hand side of the goal leaving a clear, empty net.

Is Ward even a goalkeeper?

No I think he won the chance to be a professional goalkeeper in a raffle. Its the only explanation I can think of.   Probably the worst keeper I've seen playing for us since my first game in 1974. Truly awful.
