Think we just get ran ragged by Chelsea this weekend, they will be bang up for it after the loss at Leeds. Think we will score mind you.

I’d like to see:

                      Iversen

Castagne Evans Soyuncu Justin

                 Ndidi    KDH

Albrighton    Maddison      Barnes

                       Vardy

It will be 5-3-2 with Vardy and Barnes up top. Ward in goal.

Agreed, I think that’s our strongest team, we really need a wing in place of Albrighton but that’s not bad team at all, Infact I’d say that team on paper is top 8 yet we’re languishing in the bottom 3 and playing horrible football. Horrible

Brendan Rodgers Pre-Match Press Conference vs Chelsea

Chelsea?

“Always a tough game, a top team. They showed against Spurs they are a very good side with technically good players with the motivation to win. They will be looking for that response from Leeds.”

No wins yet?

“It’s a matter of time. What we’ve shown in the Brentford and Southampton games is that we mustn’t stop. You have to keep concentrating. We need to increase the intensity."

Fofana?

“He won’t be available for the weekend. He has trained with our Under-21 squad.”

Expecting fourth bid?

“I’m not sure. It’s not my concentration. I can’t lose energy thinking so much about it. It’ll be between the clubs. We have to continue to work with what we have."

Similar to Maguire?

“No, it was totally different. I was aware over the course of the summer that that could happen. Harry in terms of his behaviour and his focus for the club, he was fantastic right until the last minute, then he moved on. It was different. Our focus is with the team."

Plans to bring in players?

“Hopefully that can be the case. It would be really good for the team, to improve the squad. Everyone knows the situation, and until that changes, we work with what we have.”

Injuries?

“We’ve got an issue around James Maddison but we’ll see how that is tomorrow. That would be the only doubt at the moment. He just felt a twinge when he was training yesterday.”

Mood in the camp?

“It’s absolutely fine. We are very lucky to work in the profession we do. There are more important things in life. Football is important for lots of people and we try to make people happy. I’m one of the last people who will lose their optimism. I know there is a lot of noise what we haven’t done in terms of improving the squad. But we come in to improve and develop, and that won’t change.”

Lack of chances?

“It’s always about the team. We scored two at Arsenal but didn’t create so much. I feel we’ve done enough to win games. Those connections improve as the season goes on. We have been in positions to win two of the three games. We recognise that in the final third of the pitch, we need more speed, more flexibility, and not be so safe. We’ve worked on that.”

Lacking belief in attack?

“It’s a bit of everything. You need to have big belief. There are things that happen in the game that you can work on, but there are also moments that require intuition. Confidence is a factor. The Brentford game we were excellent for 60 minutes. The tempo was good against Southampton for 60 minutes. We mustn’t stop that. You’re never comfortable. We just have to keep promoting our work. If we are to get back to any sort of level, we need to reinforce that.”

Regret subs you've made?

“It’s different circumstances in a game. If you’re 2-0 down, you can make changes. If we don’t get results, it’s my responsibility. You do what you do when you have that feeling in the game. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I look at the games and where I can be better.”

Set-piece coach?

“There’s nothing to add at the moment."

Bertrand?

“No, there’s no timeline at the moment. He’s awaiting an operation.”

How Fofana get back into team?

“For me, it’s always about the commitment and when the players are ready to commit to the ethos of the team. If they’re not in the right frame of mind, we have to move on. The window will shut and then things will become clearer.”

How many players need to go out to get some in?

“We’re looking at a few players in order to bring some in. That’s been the model of the club, in terms of releasing funds.”

No madders should mean no chance - but would be typical Citeh to steal a 1 NIL win. Here’s hoping

- Fofana training with the 23s and will not be considered for selection- yes he wants to go- club dealing with finances-  better if it was done earlier- blah blah blah

- Still no incomings expected unless something changes late in the window

- difficult time - hard not to affect the group but im in charge of the football side and have to get the best out of players I have and concentrate on that

- I need to respect the club when they say no finances available

- iv got a Great relationship with chairman and board

- Tielemans acting very professionally

- no new injuries- same squad

END

SO CLOSE

Bloody heck. God knows what he is going to be like when he actually starts to feel a bit down.

"I know there is a lot of noise what we haven’t done in terms of improving the squad" - well yeah, a lot of it has come from you. I'm all for trying to create a siege mentality but I don't think it's quite as effective when you're the one who's been doing most of the sieging.

We had 1 shot on target their last season when we weren't in absolutely abysmal form. It'll be 2-0 to Chelsea but they won't have to get out of second gear.

Maddison doubtful?!

Surely not. He's literally our only hope to score or do something worthwhile lol

As if we weren't screwed enough before, we definitely are now.

Chelsea have really big issues if they can't beat us this weekend.

What do you mean it's come from him? There's been 'noise' all over the place about our transfer situation.

It’ll be an absolute fuching cricket score to Chelsea if he puts Amartey back into CB and he gets us playing as we did v Southampton, im at work for this one but will be streaming probably with my hands infront of my face Shaking my head in disbelief!!

best guess is this

Ward

Amartey Evans Justin

Castagne Ndidi KDH Thomas

Maddison Vardy Barnes

Why oh why 3 at the back? We haven't got 3 decent centre halves so don't make do with incompetence, protect the defence with a more competent midfield where we have more players to choose from.

Brendan made it public as to why we haven’t etc… the media just then ran with it.

he didn’t need to go in to the level of detail that he has about the reasons why and mention it in every interview.

'mention it in every interview'. Presumably he's being asked questions about it. Hence the need to answer them?

No Maddison gives us the opportunity to start two up front.

                     Ward

Castagna Evans Soyuncu Justin

 Albrighton  KDH  Ndidi  Barnes

            Iheanacho Vardy
