Pilots earning their money in these conditions. Takes some skill...

Planes wobble at Heathrow during Storm Darragh

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/c99xx7np5m8o

It's amazing how these pilots manage the extreme weather and winds.

I was gifted a flight simulator experience this year. I went along and enjoyed it.

The "instructor" set up the landing to be during high winds and it was incredibly stressful trying to keep the landing straight with the plane at 30 degrees off the horizontal due to the wind.

Full admiration to all those pilots worldwide that deal with these extremes.

My miserable colleague is in some rural dump in Italy. Tormina or something. Overheard one of her club saying she texted saying it’s drizzly and cold LOL. Serves her right for being miserable AND voluntarily going to Italy, whilst the rest of the team will be on the beach in 28 degrees in 30 secs time.
These days make you forget what leaving the office in the dark is like

It's that great time of year when people come in from outside all hot and go "get those windows open" and let in a lovely blast of hot air and make it four degrees warmer inside, thank you learned friends

And then refuse to put the air conditioning on as it would make us freeze so instead use their desk fans before complaining that "they ain't doing much, are they?"

Brilliant stuff.

You are all absolutely having a laugh if you think this is hot.

that first summer I moved from Leicester to North Carolina I officially melted 3 times. It’s only because of the skilled Drs I was able to unmelt. On  a side note, it’s due to be 37c here on Monday and is supped to ‘ feel like ‘ 41c because of the humidity.

Yeh American humidity is something else. Remember summer months it felt like you were swimming through the air when I worked in DC and Memphis

I noticed today that some robins have inadvisably built a nest in a nearby balcony/roof terrace drain. Unfortunately, you can't really make it out in this picture...

Tropical or subtropical climates of any kind are utterly brutal in summer with the humidity. See most of Asia.
