Tuna Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 (edited) Apart from a few key goal contributions he's really disappointed, such a huge amount of money we paid for him as well. Good luck to him though at Betis! Edited 31 January 2023 by Tuna

In his entire career here his goals and assists that had he not registered would have cost us points is shockingly low too. Now that's obviously a highly debatable statement to make but it further stacks up against how unremarkable he's been for us. Him being technically brilliant is an utter myth too. Agreed. It seems I am often reading that he has great feet... Utterly baffling, unless he's a great ballroom dancer or something? Edited 31 January 2023 by murphy 1

copunk Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 Price we paid didn't help him at all A good squad player who I hoped would work out better, but you can't fault his effort, always tried All the best Ayoze 👉😁👈 3
Stuntman_Mike Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 I think he gets a lot of unfair stick. He played a key role in us finishing top 5 and was a part of the FA cup win. We overpaid for him and he should have left sooner, but his overall contribution doesn't get the credit it deserves for me. 3 1
Bob666 Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 Announced on Sky - although the King Power Stadium looks a bit different (close enough for Sky / for non Top 6)
The boy Linacre Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 Bought on the header against us down here, robbed by Newcastle for £30m, 1st price I heard was £15m (about right). Likeable guy, occasionally showed some quality but just not regularly enough. Spent the last few years on the ball continually not knowing when to release and running into cul de sacs and getting dispossed. Also a great ability to blaze over the bar, almost certainly cost us a CL spot in 2021 vs Chelsea A & probably onto a win again Fulham this month when desperately needed. A shame, but sadly he wasn't as good or as consistent as he thinks he was. 1
Ashdav86 Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 Never faulted his effort and was actually quite good technically you don't make the Premier league appearances he has without a certain level of skill Just think he was played out of position his entire time here. He was never as good as maddison and that was the major problem 3
Guest Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 We will sorely miss his pace, physicality and unerring finishing 2

OntarioFox Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 All the best in the future, Ayoze. I still think he was good playing central, which was how he was expected to play when signed - as a replacement for Okazaki. Not his fault at all that our club's chronic inaction in the market over multiple seasons left him with a role out wide that exposed his lack of pace and final product. He wasn't going to get a game ahead of Madders, and Iheanacho's slow development into more of a No. 10 was probably the last nail in the coffin of him ever playing regularly in that role. He's almost certainly done here now, loan or not. A few fond memories - obviously the hat-trick in the 9-0, the sus block to set the move in motion for our FA Cup winning goal. But also a few other nice goals - his last for the club against MK Dons a real reminder that he does possess some quality when playing centrally. Best move for all parties. Go stick your fingers in your ears in the Sevilla sunshine, and hopefully you show your worth for them or another suitor. 2
Spudulike Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 Supposed to be a Shinji upgrade. Whilst technically better he didn't have the same influence. Shame.

CosbehFox Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 Mixed thoughts. Don’t think he ever stopped trying on the pitch but hosting the party in the covid lockdown was a real problem when our form was waning in a top 4 battle. Had to play Praet ACM at West Ham

He definitely contributed to us finishing 5th by missing a great chance to equalise at Stamford Bridge from 8 yards. Won't be missed. Will be good to get him off the wage bill.
frany104 Posted 31 January 2023 Posted 31 January 2023 Thank god for that. What an awful signing. Now for a few more of the dead wood to be shipped out and we are cooking.
