A typical, quintessentially English comment.

There are only winners and losers in this game. I want to be on the winning side.

Well let’s wait and see where we are after 90 mins Col. We may yet be.

Don’t like seeing us having ago at the ref tbf

Need to stay cool

Normally I agree but has to be done in this game, far too many decisions have gone France's way. Make the ref feel like he owes you a decision in the second half.

Pointless after a game of course

We've done well to keep Mbappe relatively quiet so far.

You'd expect that with Walker, Henderson and Saka down the right that's three players who know how to defend, but at the expense of our attack so something needs to change to get a goal back now.

You will not convince me these refs haven’t received a big brown bag of green.  It’s blatant I’m afraid.

We can’t live off fouls though. We’re just far too slow and predictable. I really can’t see the point of maguire walking 20 yards forward with the ball, passing it to stones and then stones passing it back to him, he may as well not bothered walking forward in the first place. Ah well, at least we won’t see half these players in the next World Cup.

All the crying about the ref from Matterface and Dixon, if this ref was reffing any other team than England they'd like him.

He's just not giving fouls for marginal, soft contact. He's waved for the France players to get up a few times as well.

:dunno:

Think the Kane one would have been given if it was clearly in the box. Its not necessarily that they didn't think it was a foul, it's just VAR won't give a free kick will it?

Have France really been better than us?

Goal aside, nothing separates the teams.

They’ve looked decent playing forward but have done nothing since the goal

Pretty turgid game tbf

I can see us scoring. Problem is I can see France scoring again.

I don’t see them scoring not on that first half, Ti be honest we have been 1 up in these big games twice and gone into our shell… we can’t do that now, might be the tonic we need to use what we are best at and that is outright offence

**** the adverts lets see those replays!

But it's ITV.  It's all they care about.

Wait for them to start screening ads during added on time again.

I know this is fairly pessimistic (and I'll be glad if I'm proved wrong) but I thought we had lost this match the minute ITV were going to screen it.

Honestly if we go out in the second half setup the same, with the same personnel we're out, it's that simple. Can't afford to wait until 60 minutes or whatever to change it up. We need more creativity, we need a goal.

We're still in it, moment of magic where your man had time to put the kettle on and brew up before he scored has been the difference.

Walker has been great, Kane is doing the best with what he can, Saka too.

Midfield haven't been good though, Bellingham is obviously class but has been a bit off tonight, Henderson sloppy with a few passes but has been supporting Saka given Walker can't. Rice, though - needs to help the centre halves out and provide an option much, much more than he does. He's a perfectly serviceable footballer and granted I only ever really pay attention / watch him through an England lense but I can't believe the figures being quoted for him. He just always seems oddly lethargic to me?

If anyone thinks England played alright in that half, you're living on another planet.

Created fvck all.

Same people who thought we (Leicester) were alright for the first 8 games of this season

VAR shouldn’t be chalking off goals for fouls 45 seconds before goals are scored but that was a foul on Saka.

But that looked like a penalty to me and even if it wasn’t it was a very obvious free kick.

Midfield is the problem, just isn't good enough to have any control and to get the front 3 in space.

You can predict subs now: mount for Henderson, Rashford for Saka, Grealish for Foden and he might chuck Wilson on for last 5 minutes.

France haven't needed to be anything great so far, one good strike is all they've offered.
