He probably is in a difficult position, he’s right that we have players that need moving on, but he needs moving on also. It’s clear that a club like ours needs to constantly refresh players and manager, because improving contracts is not the answer

Wasn’t there talk of Bertrand retiring? And allowing us to collect on an insurance policy? 
Realistically he isn’t going to get another club again after the 1st of July. Surely this is the best option for everyone.

Of the others,

Perez has been linked with moves, but with other injuries we probably need him now.

Soyuncu looks like he’s agreed a deal to move to Spain, I suppose it’s working out the logistics to make it happen now.

 Mendy, can’t believe no one has come I for him before now. Decent player in there.

Tielemans we simply cannot afford to move on before the summer. Him and Madders will keep us in the PL comfortably. It doesn’t matter about any money we can get for him now.

Amartey as first choice CB won’t go unless a player comes in first.

Evans, with his injury record no one will come in for him.

 

 

We also need to get Vestergaard out the door. If he goes, Soyuncu goes and with Amartey and Evans on their way out too we have zero cover at the back.

A CB must come in this month.

I can't quite parse the description because if they don't agree when their contract is expiring then of course they should be let go: they'll be out of contract...

 

I guess he means they should be let go a year or so when negotiations falter? Doesn't that give players a great way to force a transfer out?

 

Maybe he should be the kind of manager and play the kind of football that players want to play for? Dangerous anti Bren thinking, that though...

  We all knew there was going to be a big a turnover at the end of this season,  is he just trying to seperate the players from the supporters.

From the article it appears to mean he is talking about any player who doesn’t want to be at the club

 

So those whose contracts run out in the summer and don’t want to sign a new deal and others like Praet

Brendan Rodgers has called on Leicester City to sell anyone who doesn’t want to be at the club during the January transfer window — including the seven players who are out of contract in the summer.

Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, Daniel Amartey, Ayoze Perez, Nampalys Mendy, Jonny Evans and Ryan Bertrand will all become free agents in the summer if Leicester do not extend their respective deals. 

And Rodgers has said he is open to the idea of selling any of the aforementioned players if they want to move on from the King Power Stadium.

Speaking ahead of Leicester’s third-round FA Cup tie against League Two side Gillingham said when asked if any of the seven players could be sold: “Well, some of that would be a club discussion really.

“I think that if someone doesn’t want to be here or someone wants too much money to be here, we have to be brave enough to say ‘listen, thank you very much and on you go’, because we are not a club with masses of resources that can facilitate every single players need, especially from a financial side.

“A number of these guys are down to their last year. We said before we’d like them to stay but there has to be a point in time when what they want is too demanding for us as a club and if the time is right, they have to move on,  then we have to do that and then look forward.”

Rodgers also revealed a few of the younger players at the club could be loaned out before Leicester’s next Premier League game against Nottingham Forest on January 14.

He added: “There may be players who want to play but in order for that teams have to want those players, so it is a bit of both.

“There may be some young players who need some loans, but we will see as we go through the window.”

That’s why I said he should go also. The club has fallen into a trap of making everything stale

Makes perfect sense, if anyone doesn’t want to be here, get out the door! If the bigger problem is wages, it makes sense to get rid of the players who don’t want to be here and bring in some fresh faces who want to play for the club.

Seems to me this clearly explains our team and situation this year.

Those players DONT CARE they are just playing out their contracts, appalling managemnt by the club, useless management by Rodgers. 

Just remember that next time you go to watch them, they are not giving their best, they are hoping to look good and stay fit for the next club.

Well as a supporter I have a message for Rodgers , I am not happy Jan , u have or allowed a team who missed a top four two years in a row , to become fractured to the point of no return ,  u were too up ur self , u ran the players into ground , and for some reason u have alienated certain players , which I am sure has caused all sorts of problems with in the team . this bits interesting.  Clearly there are a few players that have asked for big money, my guess would be soyuncu. The fact we made an offer late in the day shows that he was still open to staying, i think half of this situation has been down to him not budging on what he wants. 

 

Surely rodgers can’t be purely keeping him out because of performance. Even the biggest grudges would fade after some of the batterings we took this season. 

 

 

personally i’d be offering big dan a contract and trying everything to persuade youri…but it’s time to go for the rest of them

It’s a strange comment given he is still selecting Youri & Amartey as regular starters in the 1st team, Evans is club captain and if fit would likely be in the Matchday squad, also given the injury situation, both Praet and Perez have been selected in the starting XI, so this further runs the risk of creating divides within the squad. 
 

to me this is more clever management of the media and to some degree the supporters, it’s not my fault it’s the clubs fault, I have a load of players that I have to work with you don’t really want to be here, so no wonder results are bad, yet again he is throwing people under buses to protect his reputation and image. 
 

It’s clear as day that he doesn’t to be here, probably more so than some of the players he talks about in the interview, I would question if many now want out of playing for Brand Brendan FC rather than Leicester City as a club. 
 

As soon as the window has opened he has started his media games again, continually making excuses and exonerating himself from any blame for the shitshow out on the pitch. 
 

what concerns me most is that its now the 6th January and we most likely have another 25 days of listening to this crap and if he doesn’t get what he deems to be satisfactory then it’s quite likely this droning on could continue right through until the end of the season. 
 

I am sick to the back teeth of listening to this woe is me, if you don’t like it or don’t feel you are being appropriately supported to do your job, then resign, if you haven’t got the bollocks to walk away then shut up and concentrate on what you can influence, which is getting a group of players into a team, shape and style of play that can eek out the required results to get us out of this mess.

Strange this. Now appears to be distancing himself from players/board even more. 

 

Based on this you would expect all in question not to be involved anymore, but he has no choice but to start some of them. If motivation was low before it will be non existent now.
