Tete? "For a young lad coming in to a new setup, without speaking the language, it's tough for him. Hopefully he'll be ready 1-2 weeks time".

 

Kristiensen? "Good for him to get minutes last week, but he's not ready yet."

Our season will end up starting in March. We are so submissive to the type of opposition over the next month. It's just where we will be after this month as to the hill we have to climb. Maybe we go deep and defensive ala our early season run.

This is now undoubtedly in my mind our strongest 11. I hope they are all ready to go for the weekend, even if we do have to manage their playing time. I’d rather see Kristiansen and Tete start and come off after an hour, than just come in for the last 30.

This team and formation suits Iheanacho better than an formation we’ve played before and will allow him to play in the box more. 
Fancy us for 3 points against lost teams with that line up.

...if you are going to play that formation then surely you put Wilf back into the position that he needs to be!!!

  I understand your thoughts on Tete and if this means Maddison is played out wide for the last time then fine. Any more ideas about playing Maddison out wide should now be shelved now we have the personnel.

I saw this post (just about) and thought that Brendan just won’t play Nacho.

 

But I like some of your thinking

Just play the new guys.  Can a player getting up to speed be any worse than underperforming, less skilled, turnip brained players that play every week. 
 

I would be glad to never seen Wilf or Amartey play in the team. 
 

Hopefully they can start playing the ball out from the back quickly to Madders who will

make things happen. Barnes knows he can run into space, along with Tete who will find Nacho with Madders and Youri lurking outside the box. Easy. 🧐

Agree with the above bit but still no chance that BR does.

 

at most i think the new full back will start then maybe Tete at 70 minutes.

 

Souttar wont start for weeks. Unless the defence let in 3 or more goals against villa.

This team would be so exciting, I think we'd score 4 goals every game.

 

Problem is, we'd also concede 10 goals every game :P

You can be sure that Villa will not give us an iota of respect and are likely to come strongly at us from the start. If we can hang on and stabilise then there maybe something in it for us. The irony of this for me is Youri is now the defacto captain of the club. Can he motivate a team he will soon be leaving , it will be interesting.

That is our only hope at Villa Park - their fans soon go quiet / groan if its not all guns blazing within the first 20-25 minutes. I just don't trust this team to keep clean sheets anymore / make games difficult for the opposition.
