Cheers for this.

Here's the 'lavish' video referred to in the article, by the way. One that the article says cannot be found anywhere on the club website.

I still find it ironic that 3 out of the top 4 divisions in this country are sponsored by a huge betting company/organisation, yet betting ads are banned during games ie on advertising hoardings or on TV coverage.

Are they banned during games?

I swear I see Ray Winstone at half time during every football match I watch!

Or is it right before kick-off?

Tax these multi-million pound profit companies more and use the money to help those in need in the community - for example, give them to charities supporting those struggling with gambling, alcohol etc.

You're getting confused with Brendan Rodgers.

I wonder if any club would attempt to wear an anti betting slogan on their shirt as a match sponsor... like "Say no to gambling"

A large club with significant money could well do that.

It just depends if they have any shady leeks to gambling etc

They already do their utmost to stop me gambling.

The wi-fi connection down there is so shit I can't get on the Ladbrokes app to place a bet anyway.

Wait you get WiFi at the ground? I've not been able to connect to any of them.

Can't wait for it to be banned, I hate how common place gambling ads are now without a care for how damaging they are to some people

Get rid of all of them, including shady "trading" firms like FBS.... It's all just gambling

The problem is it will just be replaced with something else, not too long ago everything used to be smoking ads, They were then replaced with alcohol, which was then replaced with betting, which I’m sure when they are banned will

be replaced with something else.
Everyone is chasing the money and it’s coming at a cost to the average bloke on the street.

It’s everywhere these days. You only have to listen to TalkSport to hear the different bookmakers representatives they have on daily giving odds for the football, and the amount of talk around Cheltenham and who to bet on etc. I appreciate it’s a tradition of British life but it seems to be far more in your face in recent years just because they post a few warnings in their ads.

Gambling advertising in this country is at a disgusting rate. How adverts aren't on after 9pm is a joke. I don't want my kids subjected to gambling ads.

The sooner its kicked out of football the better.

I get laughed at by some, but I think you're mad if you don't see that these companies don't have some influence on games as well. Some of those utterly inexplicable referee/ VAR decisions that are given....it's literally happening before our very eyes. I'm not saying it's every game btw but I do think manipulation of matches happens and fairly frequently and it's betting companies doing it.

Gambling ads aren’t damaging to the vast majority though. I think people still need choice in life.
There are a lot of things that are damaging to some people like social media, but I can’t see that being banned.

No one is forced to bet but many do and get into serious problems, If banned it would still go on.

No one is forced to bet.. Well yes obviously. Its more about a highly addictive over 18 product being advertised at an obscene level and before the watershed.

If you're in the West stand, you could possibly connect to the WiFi that all the journos use.

Password used to be something like BlueArmy!

That was quite a while ago though.
