I think it depends on what you want. It isn't 2016 anymore, you can't win an PL on the budget that we had 7 years ago. I think we're capped at high midtable with KP ownership (assuming we have a competent manager). That's not the worst place to be in the world to be, and certainly better than the club was before KP ownership, but we will never be one of the true contenders with them again – not enough investment. Is it worth selling out to a money-rich group or billionaire? Newcastle, Chelsea and Man City would probably say yes. I'm a newer fan so I would also says yes.

Absolutely embarrassing. Is this the way modern football is going? Not content with calling for the manager’s head all the while, it now extends to owners?

Especially when we have owners who are the envy of the footballing world?

I know it’s fashionable amongst fans of the biG SIx teams to whinge about your club’s owners. Even though, in most cases, I’m not sure they really have a realistic basis on which to moan.

Ironically, the only rich clubs whose fan bases are happy with their owners are those owned by uber-corrupt and/or murderous Arab states. Classy. If the footballing world hadn’t gone insane, they’re the ones who SHOULD be wanting their owners gone.

Grow up.

I don’t think anyone wants them gone, but, we can be allowed to question their strategy.

You simply can’t deny the club is in a mess, both off and on the pitch and nothing seems to be done about it.

Answers and an explanation are what fans ultimately want, that’s not turning on the board.

Most, if not, all owners clear debt though.

It's not twice though is it because this most recent time he cleared debt the club owed to King Power which is him anyway lol

No, they absolutely do not mostly clear debt.

And yeah it is twice, money owed is money owed.

They are one of the biggest investors of their own money. Which means we are highly likely to find anyone willing to invest more, unless it’s debt saddled to the club.

The strategy is little different to what it used to be. It’s been thrown into disarray by players running contracts down, injuries, and backing the manager by not selling a player.

I don't like what the club has become albeit a lot of that isn't Top's fault. That said, his position has been forced upon him by the tragedy of his fathers death so ultimately, he'd probably be the first to admit he's not fully prepared or capable of running the Football club like his father.

He's still young, but seems to have the best intentions as well as big ambitions.

I think we need patience & understanding with him, he'll learn, albeit some things the hard way.

no we haven’t gambled our parachute payments away. You can’t secure a loan against a non existing payment. No one will enjoy relegation, but I do see  a way to have a quick return.

I meant TV payments sorry.

They need to make massive changes in the next 12 months regardless of what league we will be in

Its clear the management and executive structure at the club isn’t working.

Whelan working a dual role isn’t great either, club needs a full time CEO

I voted yes although admittedly that might have been a bit reactionary.

I don’t necessarily want top and king power out, I want him to do something. He doesn’t appear to be resolving any issues that are appearing in his business. If King Power were bleeding money and heading south would he just ignore it and leave a board of useless people to just get on with it? It doesn’t exactly point to a good businessman.

A nice PR move of converting debt into equity and some January signings was needed and was a huge step in the right direction, but the board that he oversees are very clearly unfit for purpose and we’re still stuck with Brendan ****ing Rodgers who’s only reason for employment seems to be unconditional love from Top.

Action is needed and if that’s him selling then I’m all for it. Otherwise, he should actually run the club that his family bought and has him as owner. There’s no room for sentiment at this stage when we could be in crippling debt in the second tier of english football next season.

A lot of fans unfit for purpose.

,99% of you be would fail in running a club. All egostic one track minds.

"It has to  be all my way"  single track minds...Most of you would run the. Club into the ground ..absolutely clueless & know nothing of our problems at business club level.

Thank god we have Top..who's working his butt off, with his. Company advisors.

For  & only KP,and seeing what options for interfacing for/with LCFC

I'd argue we've gone as high as we can feasibly go. Modern day football is won by money, which is then held behind FFP loopholes which only a few clubs seem able to get around.

You’ve quoted me but you haven’t really addressed anything I wrote.

Did I say I should be running the club? Is anyone saying that?

He’s supposed to be running the club but is seemingly failing. If someone can provide evidence he’s “working his butt off” then great.

I don't want to see them sell up but I would like there to be an honest appraisal of where we're currently at and I'd like to see more of a ruthless streak. It all feels a bit listless right now

I am neutral towards King Power. They are not a family but a company, hence why they've appointed Susan Whelan and so on. I am not sycophantic towards them like some of our fanbase, which is a dangerous step, because you have to be able to hold them accountable for the good or/and bad. Every season the club becomes more corporate than the last, whilst our owners play a part in that, I see the Premier League and wider football market as the main causation for this. Furthermore, I believe Nigel Pearson was more responsible for our success on the pitch, rather than King Power. Could another manager have built what he did? Very unlikely. Could he have built what he did without King Power? Most likely. Although, we might not have won the league, instead gaining sustained success like that under Martin O'neill.

However, I am wary of who is out there to replace them. For that reason I will vote in. Whilst we lose our identity on and off the pitch, through the ownership and the advent of modern football, I will continue to enjoy the intangible heritage of my experience of supporting the club. Those friends I only see at football. The pubs I visit. The route I take to the ground and have done for the last twenty years. My memories and nostalgia, of worse times on the pitch, but happier times as a supporter. This is what football is about.

This.

I don’t necessarily want them to sell, it’s a complicated business and there are much, much worse people (and I don’t just mean in a sporting sense) that could buy our football club.

But some of the deifying from our fanbases and totally unbalanced comments on this thread are well over the top. I’ve never understood worshipping companies or mega-rich CEOs, especially when the club has felt more like King Power FC and then Brendan Rodgers FC in recent years.

Our success was always more down to excellent management and shrewd recruitment and that’s backed up by the wage figures. But those days are gone.

For quite some time we’ve been regressing on the pitch and Top has failed to do anything about it. He’s doing an objectively terrible job right now. The club he owns is sinking and worst of all a lot of the fanbase doesn’t even care.

I do have concerns about whether there's enough wealth there to deliver on what they want to achieve long term, however that's not what would make me want them to sell up for the sake of it.

It comes down to one multifaceted question for me that I'd like to ask Top. Is Jon Rudkin's position measured on performance of the club andwhat would it take for Rudkin to be removed?

Like Rodgers with injuries, Rudkin has and will be Top's downfall.

If Top has to sell up for us to get the overhaul we need at director level, then that's why I'd be strongly considering it.

Rudkin isn't going anywhere, he's essentially family same as Susan Whelan is.

In the immediate aftermath of Vichai's death both of them were amazing, that helped create an even stronger bond between them and the family.

Respect and loyalty can be Tops biggest strength but also his biggest weakness.

Yes you're right and that's why it's probably time for Top and the gang to sell up and go.

Top can stay for as long as he pleases both factually and as far as I’m concerned.

I suspect he’s being stretched a bit too thinly across his businesses at present. As a result there seems to be a real inertia around LCFC.

That raises the possibility of him choosing to sell some or all of his stake to inject funds / energy / direction into the club.

I’d be pleased if he took on some form of partner with expertise, time and cash to invest.

If Top can't develop a ruthless streak to restructure the upper management of the club to get it functioning again then he has to sell up. If he sells now the family will make a profit that they have more than earned.

I'm not desperate for us to be sold but the past 18 months and the direction of travel on and off the pitch is highly concerning and it does not yet seem as if anybody has got a handle on it.

I'm not concerned about the finance side of things - Leicester seem to be one of the only clubs in the PL actually trying to abide by FFP and not saddling the club with lots of debt at the same time. Feels like we're getting left behind at the minute, but a few years down the line a lot of clubs are going to see the consequences of poor financial management.

The owners loyalty to Brendan Rodgers has been commendable, but it's clearly past time to make a change. It might be that they don't think there are any suitable candidates out there, or that they think it's unfair because he hasn't had a summer window - but it's clear that something needs to be done to stop our slide down the table, and changing manager is the one thing we can actually do at this stage of the season. Given Maddison's comments the other day, it seems like he might still have the backing of the dressing room, but whether they realise it or not, it's his ponderous, inflexible tactics and his poor man management and poor game management that has us in the position we're in.

Until he removes Rudkin, we are in trouble.

I would usually say that this won’t happen because the se Asian mentality is to have people who are 100% trustworthy in senior positions.

I presume SW has indicated that she cannot oversee both sides of the club and that means rudders retains his place on the trust basis.

we just have to hope that somehow we stay up and that glover can unearth some gems for the new coach to play with - but I look around at the other coaches competing for 18th place and they’ll all do whatever it takes to get a point. Ours won’t.

I am not happy with the financial management and the lack of willing ness to sort Rodgers out, but that doesnt translate me to wanting KP out of the club, so a no from me.

Before the debt write off, I had argued they lost interest, but now that write off, has brought them time to get things right.
