We will find out fairly soon whether or not it was worth it. Would have been looking at 50m if we were still in the prem two years left imo. He’s worth 25-30m with one year left in this market. Cannot understand all of the 'good riddance' willy pullers. Our current most productive player is leaving and our most creative player went a few weeks ago. With Youri gone as well, it's a concern where the chances and the goals are going to come from. 2

There is a massive income loss and that has to be covered as well. Don't expect anywhere near all the money to be spent on incoming players. It is probably as.much about getting wages off the books as well.

Barnes when good is good but when he isn't he is not worth having in the team. He is very inconsistent. No player is bigger than the club. 2

But also very one dimensional, no defensive nous. Lost the ability to dribble as time went on. Was limited in linking play if he wasn't 2 on 2 attacking. Passing was limited, couldn't cross. But yeah could finish well given the angle. Being a bright young spark you can't blame either him or the team for moving on. Could have a stellar career from here if he applies himself. To good for the Championship, settled in the Prem. Leaves a hole but it's a hole than can be filled if the club does it's due diligence. 5
