Although, when we were promoted in 2014, the trophy lift game was an early/lunch ko on a Saturday.

FFS I was looking at 2022 :frusty:

Think they we're moved for Coronation though?

Our Fulham game was definitely moved for the coronation. Not sure about the championship games but you could be right. It doesn't sound familiar that the last match is bank holiday Monday. Admittedly, I've not really been interested for 10 years 😂

Yep, we didn’t need 3 late goals against Norwich because we were always in control.

the fact they can come from 2 down and win shows they are a decent side, will be up there with us no doubt.

The only downside I can see to winning this league, is going up.

We well into a project that was shaking up the traditional big boys. Now we've gotta start all over again and they seem so far ahead.

I said at the start of this season that I'll enjoy a break from the Premier League 24/7 media circus, it's been bliss.

I guess I should not try to look too far ahead, but already not looking forward to accepting a meek mid-table finish next year 😅

I've gone from being furious every week to being completely relaxed and contented. That being said we need to be a premier league side and there's no reason we can't return to our former glory. Maresca has complete faith from the fan base that's for sure

Keep an eye on Boro.

Said this for a couple of weeks. They've got rid of their hangover from last season and Carrick's got them doing what they did when he first went in. Them and Leeds will definitely be in that top 6.

Absolutely crazy that Preston are still 4th and haven't won for 5 games. The division is always competitive but for about twenty teams it's like two tramps fighting over chips.

League Table looking good.

10 points between Leeds in 3rd and Plymouth in 21st just above the relegation zone.

11 points between Leeds and us :scarf:

Won't be surprised if both Gnonto and Summerville both push for a move in January. With teams like Bournemouth and Everton  struggling they will certainly be looking at them again.

I guess I’m not allowed to talk about Leeds or Ric will sic the thought police on me, but coming back from 2-0 down at halftime against that club in their building is pretty impressive.  When they were chasing the third goal Farke had Piroe, Rutter, Bamford, Summerville, Gnonto, and Anthony on the pitch together - basically six forwards.

Ipswich is still a bit of an unknown but I think it’ll be an upset if we don’t finish 1-2 with Leeds.  Maybe Southampton will have something to say about it but they don’t seem to be on the same level.

😂😂 Never said you weren't allowed to, I just found it amusing that the majority of your posts in the last year or so involve Leeds. I was curious as to why.

No chance if Leeds remain in contention to replace them in the PL.

Even if both survive but Leeds go up, you've got to think Leeds' potential is higher than those 2.

Gnonto might be tempted back home to a decent Serie A team.

They both basically went on strike to get a move. If someone comes in Leeds won't want a repeat of the start of the season.

And didn't get one. If Leeds think their promotion hinges on keeping them, they'll go nowhere unless a ridiculous offer comes in. And it likely won't. Also you don't swap from a club that looks likely to get promotion for one that's in real danger of relegation. Now if interest comes from abroad or a mid or above Prem side, then yeah, but there's no point in jumping to a sinking ship.

Nige getting a bit pissed off at Bristol City

https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-manager-nigel-pearson-8848911

Nigel Pearson delivered a number of pointed remarks the way of the Bristol City hierarchy as the Robins’ 1-0 victory over Coventry City seemed to send a message on his part after he admitted the last two weeks over the international break have been an “irritation” for him with his position as manager being placed under threat.

A defiant Pearson wouldn’t go into specifics but with his contract expiring at the end of the season and no indication the Lansdowns plan to extend it, Pearson indicated his job could be under threat with a poor result in midweek against Ipswich Town.

“All I’m trying to do here, along with my staff and us as a whole football operation, is to make our football club more competitive and whether that means we’re a good footballing side, or it means we can scrap against people or, when the chips are down, as it has been for the last two weeks, that we can come out on top in a tight game,” Pearson said. “As far as I’m concerned it’s just a good afternoon for us to come away with three points.

“I can say what I want today and there might be one or two barbed comments from me, and they are, but I’m not bothered because it becomes a situation in which I might be fighting for my job like everybody else is - whether the players are fighting for their place, I might be fighting for my job. I don’t really care what other people think.

“My position’s not been secure, which irritates me,” Pearson added, when asked to expand on his words. “Why don’t you ask somebody above me, for once, see if you can find somebody who’s going to say anything. The last two weeks have been very irritating for me, I’m not exactly in the best situation but I’m fine, and I’ll get better and I’ll honour my contract so we’ll see where it goes.”

The remark about his "situation" was in regards to his health as Pearson is still dealing with a back injury which requires him to walk on crutches as he awaits a conclusive diagnosis to solve the issue.

This was all after an interview with Sky Sports in which the City manager also revealed that certain members - without naming them - of the club hierarchy have previously questioned Andy King’s inclusion in the starting XI.

Their fans are getting very pissed off at their owners. Seems like they like the control and Nige wants to do it his way. They would be bonkers to let him leave at the end of this season.

Man City won the title with 100 points over a 38 game season. To better that average we'd need to get to 122 points in total, which is an average of 2.6 points per game from the remaining 34 games. Don't want to look too far ahead but imagine we better that?

Its a different league. As we will likely be quickly reminded of next season.

Totally agree but you look at the number of big clubs that have struggled in this league after relegation and we're absolutely bossing it so far and making it look like a walk in the park.

Man City the season they got 100 points were incredible and despite it being a different league, if we use that yardstick and we get more than 122 points then we've done better.

122 points would be mental. That would mean dropping only 13 more points over the remaining 34 games. That's something crazy like W29 D2 L3 and would be what, 40 wins?

Yes it sounds virtually impossible but even at 50% we're better than most teams in this league without sounding cocky. We may inevitably lose games but at the moment I see us keeping this up for a long while yet.
