James_lcfc Posted 13 July 2023 Share Posted 13 July 2023 Do we think the club is offering him around a bit for a small fee? I don't doubt Vardy wants to stay, but I guess even with a wage reduction he'll be on £80k/week + so you can see the club wanting to get him off the wage bill. He'll be on more than double the highest earner in the Championship last year. I'm torn on it to be honest - I want a complete refresh but I also think Vardy could do well for us this season if he's fit and hungry. I suppose it depends on the budget, the way we are looking to play and how he's feeling in himself.

ALC Fox Posted 13 July 2023 Share Posted 13 July 2023 He doesn't owe us anything at all but if he's going to leave, I'd much rather it was to either Wednesday or abroad. Or stay for a season, get us up and call it a day.

I don’t think I’d cope 1
GingerrrFox Posted 13 July 2023 Share Posted 13 July 2023 Interesting one this. Not everyone within the club is on the same page when it comes to Vards. The “GOAT” cap he wore to report back to pre-season was an indirect message. Someone is shopping him about and I don’t think he’s particularly pleased about it. 1

suffolk fox Posted 13 July 2023 Share Posted 13 July 2023 Load of paper talk clap trap. Don't think he will go anywhere. Said before wife n family settled well in the area.......especially the kids. Read into this what you want but I would be astonished if he moved anywhere? Let alone Everton.

Popular Post gerblod Posted 13 July 2023 Popular Post Share Posted 13 July 2023 It's always interesting to see a still capable player consigned to the recycling bin because of some irrelevant fact - in this case his age. Was he really so slow and off his usual precision last season or was it because the team was functioning at way under it's potential? I don't see a spent force in Vardy and he's tough, fast and experienced enough to cause second tier defences big problems. As for his wages, you'd think that certain posters on here were actually paying them out of their own pocket, applying their own domestic budgetary theories to LCFC. Who replaces him? Who has that footballing intelligence he's accrued over his playing lifetime. Let's see what a 'new broom' can get out of him. Let's recall how, for much of his career at City, without Mahrez, Kanté and Drinkwater in particular, how his unique ability has been underutilised by managers and systems which didn't realise his full potential. We've just lost Madders and might lose Barnes. Experience will be in short supply, so we need Vardy more than ever - even if he's not at the level he once was.
ARM1968 Posted 13 July 2023 Share Posted 13 July 2023 Can’t see this to be fair. The lad is Leicester through and through. Don’t even think he’d go to a Saudi club for £50 million a year.

Happy Fox Posted 13 July 2023 Share Posted 13 July 2023 Football transfer rumours: Liverpool to land Colwill and lose Henderson? | Transfer window | The Guardian Everton already have 38-year-old Ashley Young lined up, so the naturally next step for Sean Dyche would be to get 36-year-old Jamie Vardy to join him. The striker might be considering his options after being relegated to the Championship with Leicester, so would consider one last Premier League hurrah at Goodison Park. Another striking option for the Toffees is Moussa Dembélé, who is available on a free after leaving Lyon in the summer.

Devonfox1884 Posted 13 July 2023 Share Posted 13 July 2023 One more year, help us get back up and leave on a high Vards - would be criminal for him to leave on a relegation, his story deserves better than that.

wardyfox86 Posted 13 July 2023 Share Posted 13 July 2023 If he's going to leave, I want at least 6 month's notice for him to get the send off he deserves. I'd be gutted if he had to leave in the way Kasper did.
