Yeah, we need some midfield cover, regardless of AFCON - Nidid is a massive miss when he is not in the team.

Is their any chance Alves will be fit and up to speed?  A long shot, but he might be able to have a useful impact.

I could see some inventive tweaks being needed in our formation in order to find a way to compensate for lack of Ndidi., there being no obvious like-for-like replacement.

We could lose them all and still be on for an average of 2 points a game.

Obviously even without them all we won't lose them all.

We have cover and it's time for them to step up.

Yeh, the only one I'm worried about is Ndidi and he's likely to be there for the duration.

Sure Ipswich are missing Chaplin to that Asia cup or something? Same we are losing Souttar.

Chaplin will be a big miss to them. Probably more so individually than any of ours.

As far as I’m aware Chaplin is not in any Asia Cup squads, pretty sure he’s English. Luongo has pulled out of the Australian team and retired from international football if that who you are thinking of?
They also lose Burgess to the Asia Cup.

Morsy  their captain, could be in the Egypt squad

I don't like that the two hardest games are the first two games in that run, doesn't give Enzo enough minutes to work out what works best in real game situations. Can see us easily dropping 8 points in these games, given how we played without Ndidi during his short injury spell.

But we need to get rid of some first to put them in the squad

Time for Danny and Kelechi to do the decent thing and fall on their swords

Our squad is still far better than most even with a few players missing for afcon.

If our tactics are so magical and unbeatable then missing a few players shouldn't have much of an effect. :D

Also to consider is Kasey and Callum Doyle both returning shortly.

Doyle was on the bench last night

Doyle doesn’t really help address areas that would be weakened by players going off to AFCON

Not directly, but imagine a world where we lose the AFCON players in conjunction with the players currently injured. It’s about sheer number of players Enzo has in his pool to choose from.

Has Fatawu been in any squad yet this season? I didn't think he had?

I think our saving grace might be his average stats so far this season.

He's a fringe player for them at the moment and I'm hoping they'll be put off by the fact he's "only" got 7 goals contributions will put them off.

Wanya, Alves and Braybrooke are all hopefully back :fc:

I was having a conversation with a Burton fan on Boxing Day, he claims Alves is going there on loan?

Swansea will get called off. Both clubs got winnable 3rd round ties so will likely be in the 4th round on the day

Quid says we both get knocked out now you've said that.

All 3 have never properly featured in the first team, so im not sure we can class them as 'back' (although Wanya obviously featured a few times very early on). Alves and Braybrooke's returns from ACL's will have to be managed very carefully.

With Souttar off to AFCON and Vestergaard one booking away from a 2 match ban, it will be huge having Doyle back.

Both teams will play weaker squads in the FA cup to focus on the league. There's a chance both could go out. Slim but possible.

Is Kelechi going to have time to make a move in January?

I certainly don’t see that happening in the early part (i.e. before AFCON) - what club is going to sign a player on what would be a hefty contract, knowing they won’t be able to play him for over a month?

As for Ward… I reckon the only side interested in him is Wales who obviously can’t sign him 😂

We'll be fine. 9 days between the cov game and Ipswich.

If we rest players for Millwall in the cup then that's another 12 day gap so the players that are still here shouldn't be too over worked.

Ndidi will be a big miss but if kdh stays fit then him plus another will cope.

Abdul I'm hoping stays, otherwise kasey can cover

Daka will be missed but we should be fine, goals all over the squad.

Kelechi n Souts don't matter

Plenty in the squad to win all the games if we turn up. Certainly think we win at least 4 of those games

I was more thinking about that we need squad spaces before anyone new can be brought in, so gardening leave for both!
