Ricardo was always coming back in for Hamza. Goal line heroics aside, Hamza is vastly inferior to Ricardo in that inverted full back role.

Thank god someone has said it. His goal line clearances covered up Mikey Johnston doing him repeatedly on Saturday.

I actually agree with maresca here. Southampton are a fast team and will counter us better than most sides. Coady and vestergarde would ask for trouble unlesss magically we switched to a low block (won’t happen) 

 

That ball over coady for the west brom goal was a bit of a warning sign.

I would have kept Hamza in and maybe put Ricardo in Wilf’s position.

Starting to think Coady played v WBA to counter their physicality / number of big guys specifically, horses for courses. However the spine of Coady, Winks and Vardy had a chain of leadership and vocality about it and clearly worked.

It's really not surprising. Hamza was deputising on Saturday, now one of our best players is back. Coady was by his own admission absolutely done at the end of the last game, three days ago. 

 

The only suprise is Vardy.

No it isn't. Doyle and Yunus started against Millwall and Daka started against Plymouth. Other than putting coady in for Faes, this is our strongest side and he's probably gone with Faes because Southampton have some pace in their side. Same reason he's probably gone with Justin over Doyle
