Chelsea are so odd. They have the financial means anyway, large club with sustained success, to be able to just build a strong, balanced squad that is capable of challenging Man City in years before and Liverpool (over Klopp’s era) and this year it’s Arsenal.

They just seem more focused on finding loopholes such as selling hotels and women’s team and the PSR trade transfers with other clubs. But in the process, they bring so many average and worse players through the door and have such an unbalanced squad with a few stars but loads of crap as well.

Guaranteed they would be better off if they just focused on football rather than ways to cheat the system.

I was not Maresca’s biggest fan in that I feel his philosophy has been moved on from, his stubbornness to change it up etc. But that’s not saying he’s a bad manager and if he angry about the same things I have said above, fair play to him. He’s a football manager and likely just wants to focus on the football, without the circus going on around him. Unfortunately he has chosen to manage as two of the biggest circuses going!

Technically I think he is the coach, and as you say has little say in the squad, and is even obliged to rotate players against his wishes.  Weird setup.

What I don't get on here is the view that Maresca has been shafted by Chelsea (or, for that matter, by us previously).

Professional people involved in the game must talk to each other and observe the goings-on within clubs.  Maresca, and our other recent managers, may have been lied to by our board when interviewed for the job but surely they were aware what a shitshow our board is, just as Maresca could surely see how Chelsea operated before he took the job.

Surely the reason a manager takes a job is simply to better his current situation.  Maresca could see us as the perfect way to get into the English leagues, and Chelsea gave him the next natural and promising step up.  Cifuentes must have seen us, with our fairly recent history and achievements, as a better bet to advance himself than with QPR..   etc etc.

At the end of the day, managers are looking to their own ambition and in doing so must accept that that doesn't always gel with the ambitions and workings of the club they have chosen to move to.

His football is Terrible !

When I watch a game I want to be entertained, I want wingers taking on full backs, I want to see goals !!!

Maresca teams are awful to watch & I understand Chelsea fans wanting him gone.

We scored over 100 goals in league and cup during that season.

They are owned by an investment firm who saw the amount of money clubs were flipping young talents for but forgot to factor in that the majority of transfers in on inflated fees were being done by Chelsea so by buying Chelsea they didn't have a next club in the food chain to sell to.

He took the Chelsea job knowing the set up, but after winning a few cups and fresh from a 3-0 hammering of Barca, he decided he was in a strong enough position to publically air his grievances. He knows he's in a win win situation.  Either he gets the things he wants at Chelsea, or gets a big pay off and goes and get another job in Spain or Italy.

He won't get a payoff if he resigns.

Enzo wont be out of work long, Tottenham i can imagine would be banging on his door before his p45 reaches him.

Reckon he’ll head to Spain, but he’s a class manager. You’ve seen the difference between this season and two seasons ago and now a manager can stamp an authority on a team (yes I know the squad was better then).

I have quite a few Chelsea fans as mates, they weren’t sure on him at first and thought he made mistakes, they all think this season he’s been absolutely done over by their board and the transfers though, and they’ll regret losing him.

It's hard not to agree with those that believe he's looking longingly at Man City. He would walk away from Chelsea in a heart beat, like he did us.

Frank may end up at West Ham Utd to be honest.

Would that go down well with the west Ham fans?
He’s loved at Chelsea.
Not sure the west Ham fans are that keen on him.
