Imagine if Southgate scrape by these and finds himself in the semi final of a major tournament again. The luckiest man in football.

Switzerland are far better than Slovakia btw.

Not sure they're all that tbh. Bit of a meh team and a meh nation.

Is nearly a week between matches normal at this stage of the tournament?

Swiss are another organised team, could see it going the distance again.

Southgate has to be England’s luckiest manager in my memory.
Scraping through, favourable draws etc etc

Skiing is Switzerland's national sport!!!!

Glad I'm at a wedding for this.

England no doubt buzzing now so will bore them to a 1-0  win!

Rate Switzerland will be a step to far for Southgate ball.

They've just stumbled past a team ranked lower than Panama in the world rankings and giving it the biggun.

The fact that they're all strumming themselves silly tells me that that they see nothing wrong with the previous 4 games.

Just heard Bellingham say that tonight’s win ‘wasn’t about individual moments’, it was the usual tripe about it being ‘a team performance’ etc

All the usual cobblers that has become the epitome of modern sport.

Bollox Jude! It WAS about an individual moment! In this case, you scoring the equaliser.

Why has this country become so anti-competition that we can’t praise individuals anymore?

What he could have said (honestly) was that we were fookin lucky to go through and that his was a beautiful strike of the ball, thank God

Spot on. Unfortunately what you said it's happening in every aspect of life. Really disappointing.

Because he's not selfish and it just may not be in his nature to be. Why hate on him?

If anything, the problem with people these days is always finding a way to bring someone down...
