Genuinely think a lot of our issues come from poor fitness - attitude is the major issue but seems like yesterday they didn’t have enough gas in the tank, even if they wanted to work hard like Skipp. 3 games in a was too much for many of them, the manager needs to rotate more.

Under Marti, there was too much focus on ball playing and not enough on defensive organisation and fitness that we’re paying the price for. Add that to many players who have a poor attitude and doesn’t take a genius to work out why the team is in the position it’s in.

100% at fault for that penalty.

Basic ball control is abysmal!!

He should have done better but Nelson was at sea to begin with, then makes a rash challenge in the box.

90% on Nelson and 10% on Skipp.

Skipp’s been one of the better players on the pitch tonight.

Was much more confident on possession, turned, carried and played a few more probing passes than usual.

I have to come on here and admit that Ollie Skipp was outstanding today. I’ve been a big critic of him but today as a single pivot he was excellent. MOTM. Took the ball on the half turn, played it forward, stole the ball, moved into space and wanted the ball. I was amazed that Bristol City didn’t change their game to nullify him 2nd half after he had such joy in the 1st half. Maybe that’s where he’s at his best, playing the single pivot role. I don’t know but I thought I should come on here and big him up. It’s only one game but if he can continue to contribute so positively then he’ll finally be the asset the club hope when they spent big on him. Well done Skippy 👏

Was very good today I thought. Feel like he plays much better with James next to him.

Between him and Nelson for my man of the match.

He had a very good game today.

I would get him to step up and give him the captains arm band on saturday..

This might be his calling.

He was excellent last night, and for the majority of the season has been one of the very few bright sparks. He epitomises everything you want to see in a planet wearing the LCFC kit, he plays with intensity, endeavour and desire all qualities sadly lacking in so many of this current squad.

Also he is no mug in possession, is very neat and tidy and has the quality of passing to help launch counter attacks.

As long as his wages aren’t too high and we can afford to keep him, he would form part of the spine of next seasons team and would potentially be my captain or vice captain.

Credit where credit is due – last night, Oliver Skipp put a shift in.

Still, I expect a bit more getting stuck in for a defensive midfielder, ankle-biter style. Instead of relying on Choudhury for the cheap foul.
