Was told not long after the announcement by someone reliable that he had already spoken to Celtic

I could see him going there...Brendan, Kasper and Schlupp...plus a good chance of silverware.  Anywhere but England!

Charlotte I can see, assuming Steve Walsh can persuade him over NY.

How much can they pay him vs a PL club though?

Watch this and try telling me he wasn't world class. Every type of goal against every team. Enjoy!

There will never be another.

I've watched this so many times, and some of them genuinely still make me laugh out loud; sometimes because of how ridiculous he was, sometimes because of his celebration.

Vardy says he hasn't had any clubs contact him.

I was hoping that a la liga club like Valencia or Real Betis would go for him, considering they've managed to make a player out of ayoze perez over there.

Maybe it's just slow season because lots of executives, players and agents are on holidays, but I'd have thought there'd be up to 5 PL teams sniffing around

He is unique.

I can't think of any other player like him in football right now.

He really is/was one of a kind. I fear he'll be remembered by the wider footballing community as a pace merchant but the variety of the goals he's scored proves he's far much more.

The way he adapted his own game over the years, and actually profit from it, just goes to show how great a player he was.

He was World Class for a period. In three consecutive seasons he scored 20, 18, 23. Then 15 (twice) after that and not forgetting the 24 when we won the league. Mental record. I doubt we will ever see a striker score that many top flight goals for us, or if we will it will be a long time. Before Vardy our last greatest top flight goalscorer must have been Smith or Lineker.

I'm glad he stayed, and especially played 500 games for us, but he could/should have gone elsewhere really and won everything similar to Mahrez.
