Snap your hands off for 20m. Too injury prone and inconsistent over the course of a season

dunno first season he was pretty good for us i thought

Could use the Macquarie loan to get the money upfront to use if West Ham won’t. That’s how these things work, right?

That's what we did for Maguire.

For cash flow yes, but would mean the PSR boost only hits us for 26/27. Not 25/26.

Don’t get me wrong i think he’s a good keeper. But both seasons he’s tailed off after Christmas, and has had a few injuries already whilst here. Considering the mess we’re in with ffp and the fact keepers don’t really go for a lot 20m + say 5 mil for appearances etc and a sell on would be excellent business for where we are

Loaning him out this season isn't excellent business

Start him in the championship, West Ham or some other team will buy him for a decent amount near the end of the window.  Same  with Bilal.

Don’t sell out saleable assets who are probably on reasonable salaries for cheap.

Faes, Coady, Vesty, Soumane, Kristiansen, BDR - take what you can get for them and move on.

A poor season in the Championship would mean he wouldn’t go for anywhere near what he will now, same with BEK, and that’s a huge risk for us in our situation. Sadly it’ll be the right time to sell, but will likely mean we miss his big transfer unless we put in a sell on fee.

Good negotiating tactic to offer the loan with obligation as the starting point.   Makes no difference to them on their accounts if the cost of the loan is 20% of the amortised value. However, it makes a massive difference to us and they know it.  so they’ll offer a few million less to do the deal now and tell us choose between the two options.

I’d say £30m is about right. Can see him doing well there and then getting a bigger move so a sell-on is an absolute must.

Jakub, Begovic and youth team keepers would be strong enough for the coming season.

I don't think we'll get £30m. Yesterday it was being said Hammers only wanted to spend £20m and that was going to be a loan with obligation which is no use to us right now!

I think it will end up being somewhere around £25m + some add ons. 5 year deal will only cost West Ham £5m per year PSR with a decent sell on potential

Can’t see us getting a sell on unless we agree to 20m.  We are in a weak position and everyone knows. The charade the club has embarked upon by pretending everything is fine and dandy won’t wash with buying clubs.  And if we dig our heels in then we’ll just end up being screwed over by psr.
we need to get a deal or two across the line before we start negotiating on mads and other valuable assets so we can then bluff. Trying to do it without having moved  anyone on is pathetic.

Considering Petrovic has gone for around £25m to Bournemouth, we really shouldn't be accepting anything less than that (and arguably more).

Petrovic is a better keeper I'd say though. Fairly similar profile, but I think the extra height Petrovic has makes a difference and why they didn't go for Hermansen.

I can see the deal around the 20 million mark, which I recon is about fair after the second half of the season Mads had.

Accepted the fact we won't get as much for him as we probably should - but he's not going for a loan to buy. We need that money now, pay up.

Chelsea always seem to get inflated fees for their players, possibly partly due to the fact that their players are all signed to ridiculously long contracts (Petrovic signed a 7 year deal when he joined Chelsea in 2023).

We, on the other hand, are negotiating from a position of weakness, due to us being relegated and constantly flirting with PSR difficulties. Kelleher had one-year left on his Liverpool deal and went to Brentford for £17m, so I think Mads, with 3-years left, will go for a fee somewhere in the middle of Kelleher and Petrovic. About £20-21m.
