QPR and WBA are the two in the top half with a negative goal difference.

They're 3 points clear from 15th and in their last match they lost to Derby with 1 shot on target. Long way to go.

I think they'll finish bang in mid table. Expected goals has them 13th.

Which is still huge progress from where they have finished - we're 18th for xGD with Opta's model lol. Their squad is pretty poor but Stephan is a good manager he won the league cup and had Rennes qualify for the Champions League. He got Strasbourg into Europe for the first time in years too.

It really is staggering that the last three managers we've had seem to have had no prior knowledge of how poor these players are and worse still don't recognise it after watching them week in week out... I know it's been said elsewhere but Soumare and Daka should have been done the first time we got relegated and never thought we'd see Luke Thomas again when he got shipped off to Sheff U.

So he shouldn’t have taken the job knowing that these daft apeths are here? Imagine most clubs have some deadwood new managers would rather be without.

Or even worse he was given the dreaded ‘assurances’….

Club plays big salaries to Daka and Soumare. I presume there is big pressure on the manager to get a tune out of them.  For a while Enzo got something out of Daka before he fell off a cliff, and Enzo had the luxury of being able to send Soumare (and VK) out on loan, which seems wasnt an option this time for whatever reason..   Its not Marti's fault they are still on the books, but i imagine he at the very least is expected to work with the resources he has before casting them off.

You can see that Daka, Soumare and VK are clearly not fancied by Marti.

Closest we have this season is Skipp and VK. There isn't one 'fully frozen out' but those two have played less minutes than most maybe expected.

Afaik, skipp has been in every 18 and VK the same since his return from injury.

Souttar's performance at this level last season is better than anything any of our current defenders are serving up, when he's back fit he'd be the first name on the team sheet at the back. Nelson likewise was excellent at Oxford at this level, they are the future. Not Faes who wants out and not Vestergaard, although I'd much rather him around the place than Faes.

Aluko is ready, the bar is so low as well with how bad our left back currently is. Same can be said for up front too. You do realise we've won 1 in 8, are barely scoring and our defence are good for at least one howler a game that leads to a soft goal?

The rebuild needs to start. Promotion is not happening, especially not if a points deduction is applied. Do the rebuild now, like he keeps referring to.

This is Cifuentes' way back for me - I hear buzz words like rebuild and stability without any substance to them. If they become substantiated I can probably overlook some of what's taking place.

As it is currently we get the worst of both worlds. If Aluko can't get in this team now, when on earth will he?

Skipp has only played once in the last 7 matches, and VK has only played 64 minutes this season.

I wouldn't say either are frozen out, but its a lot less than most people expected them to play.

My point wasn’t to do with being frozen out - wondering why these players seem to be guaranteed a matchday squad place ahead of some of the youngsters who are putting in notable performances for the U21/U18

Our last successful manager Enzo, stamped his identity on us from day 1. We’ve seen 12 games and I’ve seen nothing to encourage me into giving him time, it’s awful football. I could go into so many issues but I’m tired of it all. I’m one for giving managers time but this is going nowhere, it’s blindingly obvious. Get him gone.

Yep - you got a pretty positive vibe about Maresca early days. He was flawed in many ways but there was far more to buy into than what I've seen under Cifuentes so far.

I expected him to have a bit more about him but then was I being way too kind? His career while varied is pretty unremarkable.

Right but the issue as I see it is simple, Ricardo is more than capable of overlapping on the wing, Jordan James is more than capable of underlapping centrally in place of Ndidi, Thomas/VK/Aluko are more than capable of overlapping Mavididi/Monga.

Ndidi and KDH were not naturals in that role, but their movement created space for Mavididi, Fatawu and Vardy.

Ndidi was a bang bang average 8, but his simple channel runs created space for the players that were great in their position.
All Jordan James/Ricardo need to do is create space for Fatawu to run at 1 defender instead of 2-3. My point is less about the quality of the individuals making the runs, but the fact the runs were being made, Ndidi made absolutely loads of errors whenever he ran through the channel between Fatawu/Vardy, often his crossing at the byline was awful, but what he did do was create space and that's what we are desperate for.

We don't need to specifically sign a number 8, we just need James to be instructed to make similar runs to create space. I know we are a downgrade on what Enzo had, but these professional footballers imo are perfectly capable of offering an overlap.

He'll now be shifted to number 10 with Ramsey's absence and we make way for 'Bouba'. This only gets worse.

Mods - instant ban for both!!!!

Although in the current situation I've got to admit, for a split second I was like, "would it be better than this horse shite we are seeing currently?" But then I remembered - BR also loved Soumaré!

So Rodgers resigns at Celtic and waited for a pay-off when he left us

To be fair his contract was up at Celtic at the end of this season. He wasnt on a mega deal like he was here

It seems the Celtic ownership has some back bone and made it impossible for him to continue working there whereas here our ownership and senior leadership were completely out of their depth and under his spell.

He came into the club with buzzwords like pressing, attacking and getting the old Leicester way of playing.

I've yet to see any of those come true yet
