Yes, but we haven't got £8m to spend, even with these sales. I think it'll take the sale of Nelson, Faes and probably Souttar to release these kinds of funds.

Oh I very much appreciate that. I know that we're deep in the hole. I do think all three of those players will be sold in fairness.

Gotta be honest, it stings him going to Ipswich, and just another reminder of how we have fallen. But the money will be good, anything to get a few new players through the door that will help us win promotion.

Bek and Fatawu have been absolutely crap for us - the money we spent on them we are massively fortunate to get anywhere near any profit back with how utterly crap their performances have been 

 

Not having either of them one little bit and being honest the ‘life under aiywatt’ chat is utter nonsense as well in regards to these 2

20m is a fair price. He's provided some great moments for us but very inconsistent and bizarre decision making at times. But wouldn't be surprised if he goes up a level after leaving as is often the case

Agree with the first bit but zero chance he goes up any levels - 3rd relegation in 3 years incoming

If we didn’t have an owner that shrinks 2 inches every year nor a DOF that grew 2 inches when close to said owner then that would read closer to £100 million

I’m not sure Fatawu will want to go there tbh. 
We might have accepted a bid, but it’s down to Fatawu to decide if he wants to go there. Not sure that’s a given

In isolation is it bad business? Yes. Is it bad business based on our current situation, I'd say less so. We're in league one and everyone knows we're in a very precarious position financially. In Fatawu's case the fee being £20 million is a symptom of the club's on field performance because even if we were still a championship club, we'd be able to comand a higher fee. The BEK deal was all arranged last summer, and I fully accept that circa £13 million for him is really low. The only thing that could soften that blow is if Stuttgart sell him for a big fee and we have a handsome sell on clause.

Oh you won't find me defending either of those people. Us being in league one is an absolute disgrace, and the buck stops ultimately stops with the owner. However, my statement is factually correct. £40 million in transfer fees for a league one club is unprecedented.

Could clear about 1/4 of the Maquary loan, which isn’t that huge but it is what it is. If they have another plan to clear this and we can use some of this money to reinvest then it’ll put us in a better position off the pitch.

I see this as a good move for all parties. He is a little bit of a one trick pony, that a top end Championship or bottom end Premier League team can punt on developing. £20m for his output last season is fair. Good luck to him.

If he tears it up for them next season then he’ll be leaving them soon after should they go back down.
