Can we all praise the true legend of this game. Here for two years and today, is the first time since his arrival not only did we score a set piece goal, it got us a point.

Wasn’t convinced with Rowett. 
But clearly he’s got more out of this squad than Cifuentes ever would. 
Why he wasn’t appointed 3 weeks ago is baffling. 
We have a much better chance of stopping up with Rowett. 
Now need to back up 2 points away from home with a win Saturday.

OK, now the dust has settled - Skipp, Winks and Mukasa can all take a bow, they were all excellent. Our first choice midfield trio for the rest of the season.

And, dare I say... good game from Luke Thomas? 

 

The effort levels are so, so much higher - but the sour note was seeing Ayew come on and do what we all know he does, which is the square sum of feck-all.

We did something we didn’t do for months - got the basics right for the vast majority.

 

The fact one brain fart cost us probably makes it worse at the minute, but is probably more positive in the long run.

That's a good point actually - probably fair result. Arguably should have been all 3. Like what I've seen from Rowett though, performances have improved.

Thomas with a chance to win the game in the dying moments again… albeit this one was much harder.

 

Fair play to him, Ricardo, Skipp and Winks - that was a pair of full 90, lung busting performances on short rest.

Beggars can't be choosers. On the balance of play, it was a fair result. Boro had the upper hand in the final 15 minutes. We'd have caved in under 'normal' circumstances.

Take it. It’s a point I didn’t expect and another decent performance.  Play like that against Norwich and we’d hopefully get 1 or 3 more.  I don’t mind results like West Brom Charlton it keeps more teams in the mix - win on Saturday and it will suddenly look tight for 5 or 6 teams.

 

Winks looks a different player - fair play Rowett.  Just need a few back from injury now and I’d be confident we’ll get through this.
