They need to get down to PureGym and work on their fitness as soon as possible. Then watch some YouTube videos on how to pass the ball and move into space. 

 

We need a manager that seems like he has watched our games and looked at technical information on the players.  If the new manager prattles on about clean sheets, experienced prem players and internationals then it will be a rinse and repeat of the last two years. Another season of the walking football dictated by JV and the Mavadidi step over challenge. Sadly, low quality managers we have been selecting will be impressed by the dross like JV, Skipp, Thomas and Mavadidi.

Realistically, It would be good to get someone in on June 15th. 

Transfer window opens then.

Contracts run out on June 30th, so gives a couple of weeks planning etc.

Why would Blackburn go back for Ismael when they only sacked him last season?

We appointed Maresca on the 16th June, Cooper on the 20th June.

 

I think most of us just have mental scars of how we acted last summer when appointing Cifuentes. 
 

If we don’t hear anything in the next few weeks, then it’s time to panic. What I do find bizarre though is that we haven’t even announced Rowett’s departure yet.

 

If it doesn’t end up being Challinor, then I bloody hope we are willing to pay compensation for someone, because apart from Challinor, the current free agent list doesn’t look very appealing.

Not sure if this coach has been mentioned among our possible candidates but seems to be rumoured for Blackburn alongside Challinor and Bilic.

The sticking point with Bilic and Blackburn seems to be that he wants a massive pay-off guaranteed in the event they sack him. I’m not sure we want to go down that road again.

I didn’t know that. Not something we should be even considering then. 
I fully expect him to get the job then and have a 5 year contract with these clowns.

We said it last summer (and it was true. We went down) but this is once again the start of what will be the most important managerial appointment and transfer window at the club since 2008/2009. 

 

Cliche but we need a Pearson esque type including backroom staff. Hell I'd even take Pearson over 90% of the linked names. 

 

First step is getting the fan base on board. Get someone in we can get behind. Yes we will back whoever comes in, but you'll get more grace period from the fans with a Dave Challinor rather than a Russel Martin.

 

Get the manager in within 2 weeks and do not start signing players until he comes in.  Get one with a ready to go backroom staff, or at least one he picks shortly after coming in. 

 

Sign some hungry players. As per @spacemunkys recent posts. They've done some decent business already for this league and on frees at that! We will get left behind if we wait too long.

The more I see of modern coaches the more I think the big money should be paid to a top recruiting team. Less chance of failure if the players that recruitment chuck at ‘em are good ones.
