Absolutely astonished that nobody stayed to give him shit as he left the ground last night. I get that it’s been an exhausted few years, but we’re too passive.

They've sucked the life out of everyone. Quite impressive that they've managed to do this to the club and face no real backlash

I just don't see the point of Martin ball when all the opposition managers have to do is show previous videos of how we have unlimited possession but do bog all with it. They just have to wait for us to lose the ball after yet another meaningless pass and hit us on the break, fullbacks are useless, centre backs out of position and too slow and keeper seems to be suffering from PTSD. It's just rinse and repeat every home game and the manager seems unable to do nothing about it so no option, get rid.

We show glimpses of potential when we move the ball quickly. A couple of times Riis was played in. But then it is back to the methodical, endless passing with players who aren't good enough or fit enough to control matches.

I’m a Saints fan but ever since the 3-4 last season, I’ve held a curiosity on how you guys get on. This interest was piqued furthermore when Russell Martin was appointed.

Quite frankly, I feel like I’m viewing a horrific accident and I’m rubbernecking the disaster, over and over.

Thanks to a lack fixture clashing, I’ve been able to watch 6 of the league games this season for Leicester so I’d like to think I’ve got a good sample size now to give my observations.

This looks NOTHING like a Russell Martin team. With the exception of a few flashes and dominant display at Barnsley, by now you should be seeing orchestrated patterns of play. This isn’t evident at all. Smallbone will help with this if/when he breaks into the team but in its current form, there’s no one there knitting the aimless over-cooking of the ball.

Lack of leadership. At Southampton, we had some proper shithouses who would rally the team and manage the on field attitude. Stephens, Bednarek, THB, Downes. From what I have seen so far, it looks like Lundstram is the only natural leader.

Recycling of the same tired players: Thomas, BDCR - I just don’t see what they offer. They remind me of players that a team ‘carry’. When they’re in a successful side, these type of players look level par with the rest out there. In a poor team, their inadequacies show.

Also IMO, some of the players simply aren’t ready or good enough yet. There’s been a lot of talk about the youngsters at LCFC and whilst they’ve shown some promise in spurts, I can’t say in the games I’ve seen the level of consistency required to play this type of football. Page has been the most solid, Alves the most exciting (though with less end product than I’d have hoped for) and Braybrook for all his bustling energy seems a little too lightweight at the moment.

Lack of energy (this is two-fold): I’m not going to fob you off and say that it’s all sunshine and roses on the south coast under Martin. With the ball, we had our moments of overplaying the ball and ponderous build up many times.

Eventually, when we had worked our way up the field with the ball, there was always an ‘explosive’ outlet which enabled us to go up the gears in the game; Armstrong, Adams, Fraser, Brooks, Edozie etc.

Without the ball, we pressed with far more gusto. Downes would usually sit infront of the defence and would guard us laterally (this sometimes was overrun) and the remaining forward players would be far more energetic and close the opposition down a lot quicker. What I’m seeing here is… a complete lack of energy and maybe effort. Perhaps there isn’t ‘buy in’ from some of the squad?

The most baffling thing for me though has been the recruitment. This should be Martin’s team as he’s overseen the squad overhaul.

Leicester effectively started the season without a recognised defensive midfielder until Lundstram arrived. A key component of Martinball is to have that defensive shield against counter attacks yet it wasn’t until part way through the season that one arrived. That should have been the first acquisition Martin made. Truly mind boggling.

There’s been a lot of talk about ‘giving someone a hiding soon’ but I’ve yet to see any evidence of that in the previous games. There still seems to be a fragility in adversity and a lack of attacking nous when going forward. I feel for you guys as it’s been a really, really disappointing watch so far.

Still, it’s a long season but Martin really needs to figure out his best eleven or he’ll be out of another job by the next international break.

Best of luck; apologies for rubbernecking.

Interesting observations. I don't suppose you watched Martin at Rangers?

What exactly are you applauding?

Like all fans, the applause is to hope we get a win.

To be clear, I want change at the very top of this football club. I’m not a twat, it’s clear we have hit the end with the King Power Group.

But mostly I want Leicester City Football Club to win football matches and I love to be there with my sons.

Yesterday I saw a turn in the youngest, without him wanting to be there I suspect I won’t be either for a while.

Before anyone patronises me and tells me off for being a supporter, no I absolutely did not applaud at the end of that shambles yesterday.

I watched a little of him at Rangers. He was on a hiding to the nothing there but he made the job for himself at Rangers impossible with his infamous stubbornness.

Oh, and isolating Nick Raskin from the first team didn’t help his cause, either.

What I would say is that the fragilities at Saints, Rangers and now Leicester still seem to be evident. Instead of making 4 passes for goal, he’d prefer 40. Defensively, it’s to same story all over (though he was fortunate enough to have a team that should have steamrollered that league with the exception of Celtic).

That's admirable support, but I think why you may get crticised on here is that, in my opinion, the only protest we can make that will have any effect on Top is for him to see empty stadia (and lack of income) where we play, and especially at the KP.  The owners seem to be incapable of taking, or even being aware of, criticism or their own shortcomings.

It's reached the stage now that we can only hope for a quick sale and a more involved and astute owner.

Thanks, he was totally the wrong manager for this club, our confidence was at an all time low after successive relegations.

Martin's confidence has obviously taken a hit after his experience at Rangers.

His football is now outdated, most teams have abandoned this slow laborious build-up in favour of Klopps heavy metal football.

I've just mustered up the courage to see his interview. All the self deprecating 'im hurting' bollocks. He doesn't give a sh1t.

He simply doesn't understand how the physical body works. Expecting players to make 4x as money passes in a high line system, when the full backs have to dart back to cover pacy wingers, and everything has to be over complex / overplayed passing.   Asking Aluko who has had single digit first team starts to do this is complete madness. I've covered in previous matches that our CB's play more passes than the entire opposition. Its complete madness.

We talk about being defensively 'sound', but the manager plays a horrific system that asks the defenders to do about 4 different jobs on the pitch. O'hara cant do it (he has a few big mistakes in him a game), Okoli cant kick a ball and Aluko has had single digit first team starts.

Remind me your defensive stats that season you went up. Remember playing you twice and both times thought you were horrific.

We got away with shellacking lesser sides in the division that season but when we came against yourselves, we got found out defensively. Could have racked up a cricket score against us on both the home and away games.

Sunderland pumped us for 5, we conceded multiples vs Huddersfield, Brum etc. We got dug out a lot of the time by our forwards.

He's watched a different game to the rest of us, we're not creating better chances than the opposition.

The goals are very soft, we're committing too many players forward to create basic chances.

Aluko was too far forward on the first and couldn't get back in time off a simple throw from the keeper.

Lundstram's attitude for the 2nd goal was disgusting. He's a senior player, gives the ball away from a speculative pass and makes zero effort to get back and defend.

He can see Okoli is pressing and miles out of position but makes no attempt to run and help O'Hora. Thomas is weak as piss but Lundstram is a disgrace as a senior player.

“We won the game against Stockport because they did the ugly side of the game!”

He talks such nonsense doesn’t he?

We won that game through luck and Stockport missing their chances by the end of it.

Owynn asked him post-game "why do you think the individual mistakes leading to goals conceded are happening on a consistent basis?"

Martin's reply was "erm.... (pauses to think for 5 seconds) ...I don't know, but you're right"

Absolute idiot who doesn't understand how fragile his "system" is and how it constantly exposes the weak spots in our defence.

We're hugely over playing in the opponents box. The amount of times yesterday when the shot was the better option and the man in possession chose to pass, it felt like Arsenal in the early 00s without the quality.

Yesterday was the final straw for me, we should be absolutely smashing every team we face with this squad of players, no excuses. I don't necessarily have a problem with possession based football even though the general trend is leaning towards counterattacking football. However, if you're going to play that style you have to move the ball quickly and can't take 3 or 4 touches. It's the details that make this work and he's not coaching them.

I remember Maresca talking about when players play the pass they have to ensure the ball is played infront of the receivers strongest foot. I'd never even considered the importance but makes a lot of sense as the receivers first touch is a pass to the next player. Russell ball is possession without the refinement.

I'm interested what will happen over the next few days. He has to go. Rudkin's interview repeatedly said the goal is promotion this season, which implies time is running out. McCarron on the other hand seemed to double down on the Martin appointment, so I'm intrigued as to what happens next. Could we see a breakdown in relations, or will the board do the usual procrastinating until it's beyond recovery? Where is Top in all of this, can he actually afford for us not to be promoted and will he intervene himself or be pushed by mum to act?

I think the next few days will reveal a lot about what we can expect for the season ahead.
