He's not going is he? I think the owners/rudders are bought into his way of football and will back him for a long time. League 2 is a real possibility.

The Will Smallbone signing last week and McCarron's comments suggest that they're planning on giving him time and think things will click eventually. If they were seriously thinking about sacking him I don't think they would have let him sign another one of his mates from Southampton on a long contract. But then again this is King Power we're talking about.

Yay. so we can keep on saying 'if only we took our chances', 'on any other day', 'when it clicks its going to be brilliant'.

I don't even particularly mind 'possession football'. When people on here were complaining about watching us under Enzo, I was in the minority in defending it.

What I do mind is possession as the objective. Possession over anything else. Possession without purpose. Possession first, results second.

Our ownership's clear minded obsession with it is mind boggling. For a group of blokes seemingly unable to align on or achieve anything, they somehow simultaneously have been able to crystalise this totally unnecessary and damaging vision, nae raison d'être for having to keep the ball and score the perfect goal at all costs.

I just do not get it. Nobody should touch Martin with a barge pole, but least of all us. A club on a remarkable downward spiral for two years, the last thing we needed was a manager on an equally dismal losing run. But he ticks the possession box, so who cares.

I just fail to believe anybody is this stupid. There has to be some sort of conspiracy. Surely? It is painful to comprehend.

Genuinely, I'd rather pick a random combination of fans to run this club at this point.

Owynn asked him post-game "why do you think the individual mistakes leading to goals conceded are happening on a consistent basis?"

Martin's reply was "erm.... (pauses to think for 5 seconds) ...I don't know, but you're right"

Absolute idiot who doesn't understand how fragile his "system" is and how it constantly exposes the weak spots in our defence.

OPA was very disappointing with his tepid and facile questions in his interview with Dufkin but that was a killer question. Martin was totally flummoxed. Martin is done here but it might be long time and more humiliation and embarrassment before Topkin pull the trigger.

They are all Absolute rank amateurs at board level! Brusell is a fraudster running rings round them who looks like he enjoys the current misery he is piling onto us fans.
Hearing Rudkin speak yesterday on Radio Leicester confirms to me what we all suspected and that he is so massively over promoted. A classic board room coward who hides behind emails. If they were all so keen on playing this style of football then why let Brian Barry Murphy leave without considering him instead of Cifuentes. It beggars belief, it really does!

1000% agree.

Most of our points and momentum from the Enzo season came from our fitness, momentum and KDH.

I'm genuinely of the opinion that there's no point sacking him. Those two prats will just hire someone identical who can carry on with the possession 'philosophy' (my money would be on Liam Manning) and we'll be in exactly the same position again by Christmas.

The whole club is utterly rotten and festering. Nothing will change until King Power **** off.

Yesterday watching what arguably was one of our worst ever performances at our lowest point as a club I felt numb, dumbfounded and strangely calm. Today I am absolutely raging 😡 I feel personal humiliation at what has become of our beloved club.

Possession football was the correct answer that season given the talent in the squad. And it was implemented with a clear plan that would create quality chances.

We do not have the same incisive talent behind the strikers to make it work this season, least of all with such a high line. This season we'd benefit from being more direct from wide areas.

Horses for courses.

So two things there:

1) Given that we are possession obsessed, we have recruited poorly. This is why we have plenty of touches in the opposition box but few shots on target. The quality of the chances we create isn't good enough.

2) It's too simple to say all possession football is 'bad' and direct football is 'good'. What's bad is intending to play possession football and lining up with the likes of McCarthy, Okoli etc. If you can't recruit in a way that aligns with the vision, at least then have the flexibility to work with what you have. We've recruited in such a way that is not aligned with the vision, and to compound that we're blindly following that vision.

Possession football in itself is not the enemy. Our poor direction in the market and a refusal to deviate from a style is where we're going wrong.

As it happens, we do need to be more direct right now. Won't happen under these owners, especially not under Martin.

Yea, I came away from that interview fearing he is irredeemable also. There is no plan B at the club and they are in no way prepared for it all going wrong again - as it currently is.

It’s never worked unless you have the funds and the players to play the style…. Which many teams do not.

The Maresca style was the closest we have had to their desired idea. The pressing, the fitness, the movement, even some of the tactical fouling. Plus, for six months, we were in the heads of the opposition that losing 2-0 would be a good result.

We have none of that now.

I had thought we’d be stuck with him until the club was sold regardless but Rudkin and McCarron finally going public, yesterday’s result and Martin’s gloomy post match interview are beginning to suggest a defeat next week will see him go.

Yep, I've accepted that we're in freefall until they sell the club or we go into admin, whichever comes first.

He disappeared immediately at the final whistle and left the youngsters to take the wrath of the fans. How the hell is this remotely acceptable.

He’d sell his Grandma for 70% possession

This farce will continue to Christmas and our relegation is just about confirmed,  he stood bye today and just shrugged his shoulders as we let in three goals while Savage the Peterborough manager was waving his players on to achieve more.

If you cant beat Burton,  Oxford or Peterborough at home the season is finished.

I think two things can be true at the same time.

We need the owners to go for us to truly progress.

Equally, there's no way we can't do better than Martin. He's the opposite of what we need now, and not just his style either. He comes across as complacent, toxic and distant. I'm sure we'd be able to bring somebody in who is committed, grounded and can get more from this team.

That might not mean we get promoted, but we saw this story unfold last season. I said the same that there was no point sacking Cifuentes, and we know now how wrong I was. He should have been sacked early and given another manager more time to turn us around.

I genuinely thought he would have been gone this morning.

The Leadership of our club are a joke.

It may well have happened already but the club could be waiting on a more appropriate time to reveal it to the press.

This style was embedded in the club before McCarron. He obviously believes in the philosophy which is why he was employed.

It would have been stupid to have employed someone like Howard Wilkinson when Top and Rudkin want possession based football.
