AKCJ Posted 13 July Posted 13 July I do think this is a good signing. Shouldn't be on a stupid wage. Offers good experience and the fans of his previous clubs love him which is always a good thing. We do need a genuine number 9 though.

Basically these two will be our senior strikers, as I can't any other position these two play in RM system of 4-3-3. They will both be in the '9' position. I don't expect them to be on the pitch at the same time, very often.

I remain unconvinced this current scouting and recruitment network have a single clue about how to rebuild this club and if we are literally going down the Micky Adams 04/05 route when we were skint and needed major squad turnover so just got every free transfer going then we're in trouble. Chaplin still has some mileage left in him, Ings as well is quite worrisome. 4 1

Underlying feeling is that he's more than good at this level but I really don't want him to block the development of some of the younger lads. 1

But there's definitely a sense of "****ing hell how bad have things gotten" to be at this point.

But then Alves will probably be pushed out the 11. As a false 9 striker? Personally I think he’s better behind a main striker. RW? Martin went with more direct players on the wings at the weekend, and in all honesty, I’d prefer it to stay that way. 1

Age is less important than performances and Chaplin's have fallen off quite significantly in recent years.

People seem to be really struggling to wrap their head around league 1 being a worse standard than the championship. 3
