See he still hasn't played any minutes for Swansea in the championship this season looks like he may have been better being loaned back to us, he would have been a better option than Watson.

Do you really think he'd have wanted to drop to League One, or that Man City would want him playing at this level?

Why would he come back here, not only are we now League one, but our style of play is an awful fit for him.

Want players like Monga to shine here? Need rid of Top first.

Still not played for them, with Swansea flying high seems unlikely to feature at all. Anyone know what's going on?! Thought he might have made subs bench for cameos at least.

Anyone who watched him for a decent amount of time could easily tell he is years away from making a substantial impact on games in the top couple of divisions. He has moments but nowhere near enough of them. He’s not a player like Rooney or Walcott was at his age.

It was a rare good deal for the club as it stands. Not often a club in our position comes out better than the buyer for a young player but I feel like this will be one of them.

He's years away from even a second tier player. Nowhere near what other "generational talent" (as people called him on here) were at that age. I'm surprised he went to Swansea.

I'd argue that the most consistent prospect we've had recently (still with us) has been Alves -  and he's over come an ACL injury!

Looks as good as I hoped he would do when getting excited 5 years a go.

Could be just unlucky, they've signed him when they didn't really need him and as they've started well they've not had to call upon him yet. Or he's not a good trainer (spending time in our club over the last few years as probably taught him how to not go about training)

Or he just thinks he's made it because he's signed for Man City.

He'll move somewhere else in Jan, hopefully bottom of the championship rather top of league 1.

If we're honest - We did well to get £10mill. He's more hype than substance.

lol

He's 17

Man City just bought him for £10m and he's played about 40 games as a 16 year old. You're talking about a list of maybe 10 players that have done that in England.

We don't have to pretend he's suddenly shit because he doesn't play for us.

Man City have gotten this loan wrong (although there's rumours his fitness has been a concern). He should have stayed in the U21s at Man City because he's still extremely raw and doesn't need to be playing each week. He's got a lot to learn but definitely has all the attributes needed.

Loaning out a 17 year old is also quite unusual. Moving (as in unrooting) twice in about 3 months at that age isn’t good for development.

Being on loan here and playing even 35 minutes a game in a familiar environment will help

There's a lot of animosity on twitter from our fans towards him which I still don't really understand

Isn't there a lot of animosity towards most players who decide to move on from Leicester on social media.

There are still some more muppets implying Bilal El Khannouss isn't doing very well at Stuttgart ffs.

Years away 😂. Looked good enough to play in the Prem at 15 and was probably our best player at the start of last season. Hes 17 years old and been sent to live miles away from his friends and family. No doubt whatsoever he will be recalled and loaned out to another club in the coming years where he will be successful

Have no bad feeling towards him. Maybe he’s been poorly advised, maybe his attitude is poor I don’t have a clue.

At the time I was glad to have kept Page over him though

Absolutely.

With Monga the investment is in potential, rather than actually being a guaranteed one for the future.

What I mean is that Monga isn’t advanced in a way that he’s already got all the tools, like someone like Rooney.  He has one trait that is very desired and that’s dribbling ability and skill… I said it all along with him, the question that nobody knows is how good his technical skill, his brain and his composure was.

You can’t just assume someone is good at passing and shooting because they are good enough to get into dangerous areas. He also doesn’t appear to be athletically gifted .. I mean physically, he doesn’t have super strength or raw pace. Man city and others all know that if he develops the technical side of his game to a high level he could be one of the best in the world.  But you only have to look at Adama traore to realise that if your only key asset is being able to go around players with ease… then your career will have a clear ceiling.

Theres no scenario where we should have waited to see with him, unless we were sat in the prem comfortably. Because as great as he looks on the eye, I would probably still wager the odds he make it as a top player are worse than the odds he does.

His attitude will play a huge role, he needs to be working hard on the technicalities of  game. Because I’m sure if he can have even just above average shooting and passing he’ll be a great player.

As posted at the time, great money for us bad move for him. I still dont think he would do anything at league 1 level either and would be bad move for us to loan him back. He just wouldn’t do the hard yards required at this level.

Ditto sammy Braybrooke. Louis Page is already proving himself on the pitch and we will struggle to turn down the offers that are likely to be made in the near future. I’d rather keep hold of all of them if finances permit as their value is only likely to go one way and we benefit in the meantime. I’m not so sure this was the case with Monga although he was a rare homegrown talent too and I do believe they help with the team culture and spirit.
