Noone should be given it. They should be 'chosen' by the playing squad & managers influence. We don't know what goes on behind closed doors and who has the true respect of the players.

Wasn't he playing for Cardiff about 10 years ago? Not sure he'd be a viable option.

Am not saying he should be captain at all. Just find it werid that fans bash our player, yes he made some bad decisions but that was many moons ago, but anytime his names gets mentioned people bring that up not that hes a poor player and if its about role models, they are just humans not role model to anyone but there own kids. If anyone looks up to footballers as roles models they need to understand there are way better role models then footballers (and normally its start with the people around your home).

 

Anyway just saying people need to get over it. except hes a poor player and a poor leader and not bring pass to judge his ability as a captain and that goes for any players.

I would disagree. A captain needs better knowledge of players and club, not a fresh signing.

I think it will be Cullen. Our 'statement signing' - ie we paid money for him - and he's probably the most experienced (outfield) player we'll have left, when the 'old guard' have gone. Martin clearly also loves him from Swansea days.

Sensible enough - obviously wants him to stay and be captain but been told that if someone meets the 10m the club have to sell

Souttar is a good choice, and not really tainted by the last few years.

I'd imagine its Souttar if he stays, I think club captaincy and being made to feel important is part of trying to convince him to stay.

 

I think Souttar probably feels undervalued here from his past experience.

 

Chaplin vice captain, fresh blood, captain if Souttar goes.

People been speculating on here that he wants to go, same with Nelson. From what I know (weak insider source), both of those have basically said they want the club to consider transfer offers but are not exactly pushing for it. Exactly what you'd expect given our situation. So not saying that desperately want to stay but a slight step further than just saying silent. Whereas a Faes for example, has explicitly said he wants to go (which is public knowledge)
