Think he’d look a lot better if he was allowed to run into space in behind and we were a touch more direct. Don’t really understand the signing in the context of how we choose to play, doesn’t really strike me as a massively technical player

He was left stranded for a lot of the game today with no support. If we want to get the best from him we need players getting closer and creating angles.

I'm yet to see one redeeming quality from him. He's slow, his crossing and decision making are appalling. Got a bit of needle about him is probably the only thing I can be positive about him.

He was good at some point as he managed 13 goals in the championship a few years ago.

A player who was known for pace who has now lost that.

 

Compared when we signed him to giving 3 years and an upper Championship wage to Lloyd Dyer after he'd lost his pace. Looks like I was right.

There was a moment in the 2nd half where the Barnsley left back got his body positioning on and faced Burns straight on.

 

Burns kicked it past him to run onto it yet the left back was able to turn from a standing start and still beat him to the ball.

 

Incredible how slow he is. Almost like signing a 30+ year old winger that relies on pace after he’s just had an ACL injury was a woeful idea.

If he’s not going to be electric and dynamic you’d expect him to be at least steady and composed. That bit near the end where a simple pass into the box to unmarked team mates would give us a goalscoring chance and instead he plays a no-look ball behind everyone, easily picked up by a Barnsley player.
