Burns got an assist but he was absolutely terrible today.  He lost the ball virtually every time he had it.

Burns is an experienced, intelligent footballer but he is a winger with no tricks, whose ‘skill’ is just to run past his marker. Unfortunately he’s lost the explosive pace and so he’s a winger that simply can’t beat his man. 3 fkin years ffs.

Ipswich fans love him, and I watched him tear it up there a fair few times so I think it was a fair point at the time, but he is completely done so in hindsight it clearly isn’t.

 

Funny one, I work with an Ipswich fan and asked how Abdul is getting on on Friday. He said at the time he thought it was a bad deal to sell Burns and sign Fatawu 😂.

I did as I thought we would be getting a meat and potato winger that is just good at pinging balls and would at least match the cloggers in L1. My Ipswich mate said good things but it’s like when Albrighton left, we got the best of him.  He went from playing in a system where they attack quickly and the full backs overlap and provide support to whatever dross we are seeing. His legs are gone.

 

Another waste of money which doesn’t help and no doubt he’ll get played because of ‘experience’.
