Sorry to hear about that. It's particularly tough when a death happens unexpectedly like that, isn't it - and if you don't find out immediately.

My was ok until I fell foul to a phishing scam.

 

Got a proper legit looking e-mail from "apple" in my inbox and walked right into giving them bank details. Just spent ages on the phone with the bank trying to sort stuff out. They sent 2 payments totalling over £300 quid out in the hour between me filling out the information and getting to speak to someone from the bank. Cvnts.

Today I'm with a client of mine - the Exec team of a 5 star hotel in central London. They want me to have the 'guest experience' so I'm staying over tonight in one of their basic £600 rooms :blink:

I've just had the tour of the property including the £18k per night penthouse. Apparently one direction were in it over the weekend and Johnny Depp, Denzil Washington and Will Smith have also stayed during the last week. It's over two floors and as big as my house. A real insight into 'how the other half live' which has made me realise how poor and insignificant I am in the grand scheme of things lol Recession? What recession? There's so much money and wealth in the world but it's so unevenly distributed. On my walk from the tube there were two homeless guys sleeping rough literally 50 yards from the Hotel. It's a fvcked up planet we live on alright.

Clearly there has been a mistake, you weren't supposed to see any of this.  Someone will be round shortly to erase your memory and replace with the travelodge.

And that was only a 5* in Central London, wait till you see the Holiday Inn in Sheffield!!

After that first paragraph I thought you were some sort of Escort.  Heard of the girlfriend or porn star experiences they can offer, never heard of the guest experience though.

lol no I'm not an escort, I'm the coach and trainer to the Exec team here in the Hotel. They wanted me to stay and experience their 5 star hotel as a guest would, and then give them my feedback. It's been interesting watching rich Sheikhs and high flyers mooching around all day. I feel like a duck out of water but it's been quite enlightening. Just ordering my £50 room service breakfast for the morning. Bonkers prices :unsure:

I remember the first time i had one of those revelatory experiences its a sad time and i was never the same. Incredible though and yours sounds even better .

Actually ill share a bit of it.... had a similar experience working for News Corp, flown to Hunter Valley in NSW, put up a 5* resort, golf, dinners and celebratory functions, black tie all the bollocks.

 

It was around the time that News were selling their ownership of "MySpace".. they had bought it for.... $585,000,000 thats right OVER half a BILLION dollars ...and they had completely fvcked it up and were now selling for $35 Million... a loss of HALF A BILLION DOLLARS.

 

Anyhoo on my return from my weekend jaunt and with the myspace disaster in the back of my head... i had to head into the office the next week and tell a 20 something that he had missed his monthly budget by $3000 dollars and was now on thin ice as this was two months in a row... 

 

It made me reflect on my life and the choices i was making... lol the kid couldve missed budget for 190 thousand months (or 15000 years) and he still would not have lost close to the myspace debacle and yet Rupert and his mates running the business continued on getting their absurd incomes.

 

BTW that Murdoch fvcker is just about to sell his own business to himself for $14 BILLION  https://www.engadget.com/2016/12/15/21st-century-fox-is-buying-uks-sky-in-14-6-billion-deal/

WTF indeed Oz! I've never really given it much thought but the last 24 hours have given me a glimpse of the 'high life' I suppose, and it's pretty sickening really. I sat having dinner last night watching people drink champagne like it's going out of fashion and spending more on food and drink than most people earn in a month. An American guy on the next table spent £800 on one cigar! Anyway, heading back home this morning to my modest 3 bed semi and average Joe existence lol. I know I'm lucky in the grand scheme of things but some people have so much wealth that it doesn't seem right somehow.
