How Was Your Day?

It's snowing quite a bit here in Syston.

Never mind, Wymsey, I'm sure they'll connect Syston to the National Grid one day.

In the meantime, just throw another peasant on the fire.

I'm embarrassed to write this, but maybe a few can relate to it seeing as lockdown is an absolute ball ache (literally) for singletons

I'm a seperated guy since 5 years. I've grizzled on other thread in the past how I despise online dating. All so functional and methodical. Plus the talent pool is shite in the 33 plus bracket.

Anyways, courtesy of work zoom meetings and whatsapp and on the phone, I've been getting closer to a girl at work  who, previously in office pre covid days, we'd only made water cooler small talk.

I don't think it'll come.to anything (she's a division above me and, basically,  a bit hacked off with lockdown back at her parents and I'm a convenient distraction) . But, it reminds me of why online is so shite. Real stuff is so.much edgier. Riskier. Exciting. Cat and.mouse. Will she won't she. The scarcity too. These things, to me.at least,  don't happen too often.

Regardless of the outcome, I just love the chase. It's fun 🙃

Apologies for a self indulgent post on a thread that's nothing to do with 'feelings' ....but foxes talk is fortunately quite a tolerant place for those who are up, down or indifferent.

Referiing to the post above, It's been a fun and fascinating three weeks chasing this bird at work. There's been swings of momentum. Sometimes I'm in the ascendancy and she's hanging off every text and call....then it flips and I'm pining away checking for texts or missed calls every 10 seconds

It's petering out now. Last weekend it peaked and then, now, such is life, it's just about done. And you have to ween yourself off it. It's like a drug.

I chased a (if I say so myself)  very impressive, very funny and very nice girl and ultimately it looks like failing.

I get very philosophical about  these things. Is glorious failure better than, say, winning but making do? Don't think there's a right answer

You are giving up?  Surely one last law breaking attempt is in order?  Turn up on her doorstep and invite her to move in?  :)

Haha. No way am I moving into the friendzone.

I'm gonna detox for a couple of weeks and then go in for one last hurrah, citing booze and 'lockdown' obvs.

My youngest daughter (15) has just come and told us that her best friends dad has died this afternoon with Cancer. He had been ill for a little while.  He leaves behind 2 daughters and a wife, who is also recovering from Cancer.

I have never met the bloke, but feel gutted. I also deeply feel for his family he has left behind and the upset they will have.
Life just doesn’t seem fair at times.

Things like this also make you reflect on your own life, and how some of those ‘problems’ are (often) mere irritations in the scheme of things.

A night for reflection.

Somebody I know (not particularly well) was diagnosed with a brain tumour last week, he has two daughters too and all of a sudden it makes you realise that your own troubles pale into complete significance. Heart wrenching business.

I bet with William Hill and play their Bonus Drop game every day.

I put 10 or 20 quid a week on a few accas and that's it, nothing serious.

So I played the bonus game today, usually get 5 free spins on the casino worth 20p each.

I just landed in Cash Prize and it gave me £250.

No catch, I've already withdrawn it!

Nice way to start the weekend!
