How Was Your Day?

Apologies for a self indulgent post on a thread that's nothing to do with 'feelings' ....but foxes talk is fortunately quite a tolerant place for those who are up, down or indifferent.

Referiing to the post above, It's been a fun and fascinating three weeks chasing this bird at work. There's been swings of momentum. Sometimes I'm in the ascendancy and she's hanging off every text and call....then it flips and I'm pining away checking for texts or missed calls every 10 seconds

It's petering out now. Last weekend it peaked and then, now, such is life, it's just about done. And you have to ween yourself off it. It's like a drug.

I chased a (if I say so myself)  very impressive, very funny and very nice girl and ultimately it looks like failing.

I get very philosophical about  these things. Is glorious failure better than, say, winning but making do? Don't think there's a right answer

If she’s going to be free could you send me her photo and contact details please ?

What I like most about @Izzy is that even 30+ years after we sat together in school, he still spouts daft stuff which makes me laugh. Never change mate :appl:

I smell bullshit.

I mean, come on - a ginger kid with a friend? :giggle:

Very early start today ...  got a very strange text from a mate at 4 in the morning that had me really worried  (he’s in a really dark place at the moment) ...   so after getting no reply on the phone drove round there ...  didn’t get any reply after hammering the door so was just deciding whether to kick it in or break a window when one of the upstairs lights came on ...   not going to mention what happened next but let’s just say I was well well pissed off !! ....   :)

He told you he found a lightbulb and is no longer in a dark place?

I bet with William Hill and play their Bonus Drop game every day.

I put 10 or 20 quid a week on a few accas and that's it, nothing serious.

So I played the bonus game today, usually get 5 free spins on the casino worth 20p each.

I just landed in Cash Prize and it gave me £250.

No catch, I've already withdrawn it!

Nice way to start the weekend!

Nice!

I don't deposit anymore, but play the drop. Few weeks ago I won £20 prize and last friday I won a few quick, which I usually stick on bingo and while I was playing, someone hit the jackpot and I got £160 from the shared pot.

Willhill are quite generous with bonuses which usually means I have a few quid to play with on Saturdays for some acca action.

Home schooling for the first time......strugled to even switch the laptops on!I'm not cut out to be a teacher!

Lol.

Its a tough job. My wife is a teacher and i dont envy her. Since the new year we were on lockdown so shes been teaching remote. Our two kids went back to school in class yesterday but my wifes school board resumes in class teaching next Tuesday.  I had to wfh for the last month with what felt like 3 classes of kids on top of the "adults" i work with.  All the bloody noise from little whiney kids. Sigh.

Most jobs have good and part parts though so don't get too frustrated. Take it slow, think it through as best as you can.  Dont be afraid to ask for help from  the teacher if you can. Or if they want to help lol

The work day is just beginning over here and we are dealing with this polar cold arsed weather. Just took the garbage and recycle bins outside and i felt death in my bones from the cold. There is cold, then there is that next level FOAD cold. Thats not even the coldest weather we deal with. I remember the -25 celsius feels like -40 type cold. Bollox!

Let's see if I've got this right.

You live in Canada and it's pretty cold?

Tricky concept, but I think I'm beginning to get my head round it.

I can testify to this having lived in Kitchener. Sweltering summers, brutal winters.

Yup. I can handle the cold and snow. I just don't like this bitter cold ita next level.  Its like when we have the occasional high 30s feels like mid 40s . Two extremes i dont care for.

I'm being very childish now but this post got me thinking about how one of our football coaches taught us to cup our balls to keep our hands warm on cold Saturday mornings and that got me thinking if ladies' coaches ever taught the girls to do the female equivalent... lol

The missus has cut my hair for the first time since the barbers shut again. I couldn’t remember whether I had a number 4 trim or a number 2 so she gave me a number 2,wrong choice. I look like an old skin head.

I'm on the verge of caving in and allowing my daughter to give me my first ever lockdown haircut (escaped to a barber in Syston during the 2020 Leicester lockdown).

She's been eagerly touting for (unpaid) hairdressing business for weeks and has now told me that I look like I'm developing a mullet........that could swing it for her.
