RizLCFC Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 If we are spending 6.5m on a target man I rather we didn't!, our game isn't based on target men, yes we may need a plan B and someone that is good aerially and can score from crosses which is Albrighton's game, however, £6.5m isn't simply worth it unless the player in question is better than Nugent and Vardy and imo Ulloa isn't so it is a NO from me. Ulloa is better than Nugent, I like Vardy and I think he'll do well in the Premiership, if we sign Ulloa he'll do well too. He is more than just a target man, he's got a bit of pace about him, not like Nugent or Vardy but he's more of an all rounder.
Babylon Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 Is he any good on that then? Yeah Steve Walsh traded Gallagher and Wood for him.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 is this rumour still alive? must admit I'd rather take Ulloa than Fraizer Campbell not insanely keen on either though.
1972 Fox Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 It's very simple really, If the Scouting team don't think we can get anyone better to play in Nigels system in the new season for that kind of money, Then he's the best choice. Suarez and Sturridge were bought by liverpool for 12 mil each which was a pittance compared what utd city and chelsea were paying for strikers. Now there worth over 100 mil. Does that mean Liverpools scouting and Managers is better than the others. Not necessarily, Nobody gets it right all of the time. The trick is being right most of the time which our scouting team have proved capable of doing. Some people just don't look beyond Harrods when shopping. Others find great bargains in C &A. Sturridge cost £12m but Suarez was approx £23m. They have both turned out to be bargains at those prices. If a signing is a success at his new club the players value normally increases and the transfer fee paid is not questioned. It is only when the signing is a flop that transfer fee get scrutinised. E.g. Akinbiyi, van Wolfswinkel, Rebrov, etc. If we were to pay £6.5m for Ulloa or any other player then we would hope that he is succesful with us and turns out to be good value for money. I trust NP to make the right choices/decisions.
TJB-fox Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 Bring him in, we need a big ****er that can actually head a ball
RizLCFC Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 We need someone who can hold the ball and bring the likes of Mahrez, Knocky, Vardy and even Drinkwater in to play. Only GTF can do this to some sort of effect. It's expected of Wood but I don't think that's his style, just because he's a big lad doesn't make him a target man. Nuge and Vardy can't do that either.
pazzerfox Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 So any real news on this then ? Apparently we have offered 6.5 million for him.
chapero82 Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 Ulloa is better than Nugent, I like Vardy and I think he'll do well in the Premiership, if we sign Ulloa he'll do well too. He is more than just a target man, he's got a bit of pace about him, not like Nugent or Vardy but he's more of an all rounder. He has 60 pace on FUT and rates 73 I can buy him for 500 coins so he's not worth. 6.5m coins
DanTheFox07 Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 Apparently we have offered 6.5 million for him. Apparently....? believable then
pazzerfox Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 Apparently....? believable then From a reliable ITK.
pazzerfox Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 Five years ago maybe. I always thought Bert was pretty good....Apart from the time he said Nigel was getting sacked in the morning!!
dayday Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 I trust NP but this isn't a good move imo for that money we can bring in a better striker or at least someone with more potential who will command a higher resale value in the years to come. If he scores goals and keeps us in the prem then it would be money well spent, also cannot believe people saying 27 is to old, imagine signing a 27 year old Kevin Phillips.
qwerty123 Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 No new bids have been submitted. Club continues to look elsewhere
st albans fox Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 brighton's new manager states in his news conference that 'their ambition attracted him'. that doesnt sound like a club about to sell their prize asset.
Brighton Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 6.5m is steep. Rather us spend it on a relative known than a relative unknown though. Tinpot Brighton may as well take it. Get fed up reading the hate towards him. He is class. Playing the lone striker role for 2 seasons in a team that play tippy tappy shite football and 90% of the possesion is played in our own half is good. If he was in your team this season gone and the way you play he'd have got 30 goals. He was out for 3 months with a broken foot as well and took a while to get to match fitness. £6.5m won't get him, He's fully awhere of clubs interest but has stated that he's happy in Brighton and his wife loves it it here as the laines remind her of Spain and has lovely Spanish restraunts who are spanish. Think it's time you matched our valuation or look elsewhere because we don't need to sell. Tin Pot? Okay.

AKCJ Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 I can't think of a single thing that is "tinpot" about Brighton.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 I can't think of a single thing that is "tinpot" about Brighton. They fulfil the single criterion of "not being Leicester City".
Bert Posted 12 June 2014 Posted 12 June 2014 I can't think of a single thing that is "tinpot" about Brighton. The beach. It's not even sandy. Twats.
