mozartfox Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 If we bugger this up over how the fee is to be paid, then heads need to role. Improving a bit of cash flow now, will pale into insignificance if we drop out the PL this season. FFS, what the fvck is going on?
Fox 4 Life Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Why is nothing ****ing easy. Dave Whelan said himself it had been accepted, beyond confused
BlueBoy1 Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Getting seriously f****d off with this. The club has been fantastic over the past couple of years but I can't help but think we're condemning ourselves already. Of course I don't know whats happening behind the scenes but on the face of it we are being a tad unrealistic with the EPL market
Bettsj2 Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Completely contradicts what Whelan said that the deal HAD been agreed. None of this makes sense.
J.Lisemore Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 So Dave Whelan says he's accepted a bid but now it's rejected... What did he do? Press the wrong fvcking button or something?
Cropwellfox Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Does seem like we are being played by agents, chairmen etc all over the shop. Wouldn't rule out Whelan talking to the press to get other parties to up their offer as Geoff said yesterday. NP must be livid
Happy Fox Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 It would probably be f**king easier to buy players from fellow prem clubs.
Fox 4 Life Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Will the few quid here or there ****ing matter when we are back in the championship? We need depth and now
SMX11 Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Not sure we need two central midfielders. Potentially having 6 on the books all who want first team starts doesn't seem the most effective use of our money. Particularly when we have no genuine cover at right back.

And only 3 recognised wingers, one of whom will be out in January, along with Schlupp if he's becoming a winger too

Do you actually believe Cambiasso will sign? We have heard all this nonsense over and over again. I would much rather sign a younger more reliable midfielder who over the 2 years wouldn't cost much more.
Robin JD Popley Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 So Geoff was right all along... Well done squire!
legologo Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 I hope our players and future signings don't read this forum. Some of our so called fans are unbelievable. Some would find fault at signing messi. We spent to much on him... Who care its not your money and if the club want them enough, fair dues. Then the same fan will say we haven't spent enough to survive! I for one am enjoying the premier league and our squad. Whatever happens ST renewed and I'll be behind the club all the way. I don't recall this amount of negatively even when martin George was the chairman. We are blessed with good owners who have spent millions, a good manager who doesn't sign big time Charlie's and knows what he expects from players and a young skillful squad that want to wear the LCFC shirt. Enjoy it.
blueonyou Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Would be an OKAY signing, and an OKAY signing at that, lets look through his actual style of play and what he can give you in the team, will track back and help the defence, not too scared to put a tackle in, likes a shot, and hard working, now granted, these are good attributes, but are they better than what we've got? i would say no, james does the tracking back and defensive side of things, so does hammond, drinkwater and king are for the more advanced playmaking roles, now the issue of IF and a big IF cambiasso was to arrive, he truely would offer something different, sheer experience, someone thats played at the highest level of football possible and incredibly decorated, at £7 million pounds, we are paying McArthur to warm them loverly blue seats in the dugout for us, because i carnet exactly see him starting in front of Drinky when he comes back, or cambiasso if he comes in, then we need to credit King and Hammond for playing so well these last two games, I'm not saying McArthur is bad I'm saying he's okay, didn't exactly set the premier league alight when he was last there with wigan, hence why he wasn't bought by a bigger team, we can say in nige we trust however many times we like, but i think this COULD be a panic buy, just for numbers. Surely if the Cambiasso deal doesnt come off, which let's face it, it's been delicate to say the least, and we didn't get McArthur, we'd be screwed, so it kinda makes sense. I do think we'll have an exit tho if Cambiasso is signed too. If its King or Hammond, then they have just significantly increased their price tags through their recent performances which means hopefully good business!
Vlad the Fox Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 If the rumour of Cambiasso signing is true then this could be us pulling out and something else Geoff said yesterday is true that we won't be signing both.
Jon the Hat Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Surely if the Cambiasso deal doesnt come off, which let's face it, it's been delicate to say the least, and we didn't get McArthur, we'd be screwed, so it kinda makes sense. We can hold on to them till the window shuts and loan out Hammond if we really have too many midfielders. Reading can take him in September.
Robin JD Popley Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 I think someone else eluded to it last night, but, think about it. We are probably on the verge of signing one of the best midfielders in the game for the last twenty years. However, we know he is (an albeit phenomenal one) a short term fix, one year certainly, two perhaps - just to stabilise us as a club. That, said, McArthur is 26. If he learns how to apply his craft under Cambiasso even more, alongside Matty, Danny, Andy (although I see him being used more as an attacking force) for the next 2 years say, we may not need to overdo it with buying in certain areas. Ok, you account for bids coming in, injuries etc etc, but fundamentally the nucleus of the next 2 to 3 (hopefully 4) seasons is there. Just like KP has done up front, EB could do with our young midfielders. Win, win!
Kitchandro Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 FFS, we have 4 days to sign some freakin players.
theessexfox Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Looks like Geoff peters was right all along then! Stopped clock is right twice a day
docho66 Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 In the Daily Telegraph, Whelan has said some very positive things about us: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/leicester-city/11059096/Leicester-City-transfer-news-James-McArthur-to-sign-for-6.5million-after-Wigan-accept-second-offer.html Maybe we're "too nice" when it comes to making transfers, making us lose out to targets!
Collymore Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 He's not been the same since he won the x-factor anyway...
Dr The Singh Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 He's not been the same since he won the x-factor anyway... Just a question, if McArthur is worth £6.5m, how much would Andy King be worth, as ANdy in my books is better????????
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 He was definitely at the club yesterday and had his medical, so I don't see how he can have done that unless a fee has been agreed. This will be Whelan or someone at leicester leaking a story to try and gain something out of it.
Woollett's Wellies Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 I just wonder....One of the many reports about this deal I saw yesterday said that the two clubs were yet to agree a schedule of payments. Sorry! There are so many links from yesterday I can't find a link. Just wondering if this is actually what's happening? I guess we'll find out later at the usual Thursday press conference. That is, if NP want's to give them any transfer info, which is always a big question....
