If he plays for us for just one season, if he plays well I'm sure he'll get his CL move, he'll make some cash from us, and he will of help us survive for another season, BL would probably stump up more cash if they know how he performs in the premier league. Everyone wins, and we make 30 million off BL lol CL players don't come cheap! ;)

The difference between Kante and this guy is that Kante preferred Marseille but was open to joining us.

This guy has done full-on interviews and made a tear-driven public appeal to his Club not to make him sign for us. He's absolutely desperate not to play for us. There's no way he could be a success with us now.

The problem being it isn't always easy to play well in a side that might not be playing well. At this guys 'level' his next move it crucial, he clearly sees himself as a Champions League standard player (whether he is or not I don't know) so wants to be as close to that standard as possible. Join us at say £50k pw and become embroiled in an underperforming team in a league notorious for its frenetic pace and your career can stall, join a CL team where invariably you'll be able to feel your way into games as the opposition will be considerably worse than you, and your £30-35k pw week wages can soon become £80k-100k with a move to a 'big' team.

Wherever he moves next is clearly a risk but the choice between a CL team and one which was embroiled in a relegation battle for 95% of the season (and who have lost their player of the season and manager) isn't that difficult.

Well we already know this because we know his decision.

But playing for a team lower down the table does not stop you getting moves to better teams. Ask Delph, or Benteke. Whether in a poor team or not, good players still end up looking good and getting good moves.

He's using it as an example to people who keep saying "he doesn't want to come here", that we're working a certain angle to try and get in players. People need to get their heads around the fact that whilst we may not be his first choice (clearly), it's quite likely he won't pass up an opportunity of a bigger league, better shop window and a nice pay rise.

Our tactic needs Inter to play ball though, along with Bayer not stumping up the cash, just as the president of Caen did and Marseille didn't. He said you're either going Leicester or staying, we left our offer on the table and in the end he arrived. He might be mildly annoyed, but that's probably about it. Once they see the set up and the owners ambition, they will probably realise it's a pretty decent project going on here as well.

Why so much interest in a bloke who says he is not coming?

For the above reason.

Sigh.

Everything coming out of Caen to start with said Kante didn't want to come here. It only started changing weeks down the line when it was clear his club were playing hard ball and refusing to accept the lower offer.

Once again, people need to see the difference between not wanting to join us full stop, and someone preferring to join Bayer and trying everything they can to make that happen. It's all part of negotiations, happens all the time we just aren't use to seeing it played out in the press over here.

To suggest it stops him from being a success here if he came is ridiculous really, he might be disappointed. But it's not Leicesters fault alone, Bayer for not paying the asking price, his other club for not accepting a lower offer etc are also to blame for not getting the move he wants. That's life, sometimes you can't get what you want, you just have to make the best of what you do have.

BREAKING:    Aranguiz says I would rather sign for Forest than play for that lot.  Their Fans' Forum is frequented by a bunch of Kantes'.

Can we stop with the made up quotes please. Any more will just get deleted.
