Sigh.

Everything coming out of Caen to start with said Kante didn't want to come here. It only started changing weeks down the line when it was clear his club were playing hard ball and refusing to accept the lower offer.

Once again, people need to see the difference between not wanting to join us full stop, and someone preferring to join Bayer and trying everything they can to make that happen. It's all part of negotiations, happens all the time we just aren't use to seeing it played out in the press over here.

To suggest it stops him from being a success here if he came is ridiculous really, he might be disappointed. But it's not Leicesters fault alone, Bayer for not paying the asking price, his other club for not accepting a lower offer etc are also to blame for not getting the move he wants. That's life, sometimes you can't get what you want, you just have to make the best of what you do have.

Can we stop with the made up quotes please. Any more will just get deleted.

Consider you lot told off.

I agree with all of this but most of all I absolutely couldn't agree more with the last part. Stop with the made up quotes garbage, it was mildly humerous for the first couple and now its just tedious and irritating.

Well we already know this because we know his decision.

But playing for a team lower down the table does not stop you getting moves to better teams. Ask Delph, or Benteke. Whether in a poor team or not, good players still end up looking good and getting good moves.

Indeed it doesn't but Delph joined Villa in 2009 and didn't begin playing regularly until about 2013. Both players have now moved at 25 to a big club having enjoyed 3 years as first team regulars.

Not sure what that has to do with anything. They moved because they proved they were good enough and someone made an offer deemed acceptable (well actually it met the release clauses). If he comes in and plays well teams will be interested.

We don't sign this sort of player normally, this scenario doesn't sit well with people.

Normally it's either up & coming younger players who want to play for a club & make a go of their careers, like Drinky, James, RDL, Knocky & others

These are people in their prime & wanting to join CL clubs, not a club who may flirt with relegation - or may even seem unstable from the outside, given the events of this summer.

We're not used to seeing this sort of almost prima donna mentality, because we are used to players playing for the team, they have been researched to see if they have that kind of mentality, before we even take our interest further.

Hopefully these types of signings pan out

Well Delph was a 19 year old playing for a bankrupt Leeds, hardly an established international. Benteke is a curious one, Villa scouts didn't want him, lambert had to push that deal through. I would argue that both are entirely different to our situation as Villa (inspite of what some on here wish to believe) are a 'big' club.

I sincerely hope he joins but I think it is too much of a risk for him.

Sigh.

From the beginning Kante was 'Leicester have made better offer, player prefers Marseille'. Prefers there is the operative, it means he wanted most of all to join Marseille but still considered Leicester an acceptable option.

Aranguiz is 'Leicester have made better offer, player actively wants to go to Leverkusen and actively doesn't want to join Leicester'. Aranguiz does not consider Leicester an acceptable option.

If Aranguiz's quotes don't constitute 'not wanting to join us full stop', then I honestly don't know what would.
