Spudulike Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Not keen on our Gareh either.... http://www.smallheathalliance.com/read.php?1,1855526 They can't see the funny side of it
LCCFox96 Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 £4.7mil for Gray is a bargain! We should be jumping into negotiations to get that done ASAP. Would be delighted with this signing.
Bamba's Babes Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Tanner proving he knows nothing as per usual.
Tuna Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Not keen on our Gareh either.... http://www.smallheathalliance.com/read.php?1,1855526 They can't see the funny side of it The tweet they are referring to doesn't exist. And I don't think Gary would refer to 'small heath pussies' either. They're talking bollocks.
Vindaloo FOX Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 if this is true and we do get him for 4.7 mill than it will be one hell of a bargain. i will feel like we have just got away with daylight robbery.
enmac Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Could be the case!Thought it was 5M back in January, before the new contract was signed. Were BC in danger of relegation then? - I can't remember. Otherwise 4.7 M is hard to believe. Maybe there's a big sell on clause at that price. http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-transfer-rumours-City-trigger/story-27682655-detail/story.html? mercury say not yet
HighPeakFox Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 wow we're going to have literally the best team in the league I really hope this is deliberate bulls**t
benpicko Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 I really hope this is deliberate bulls**t No I'm actually saying that we'd have a better squad than Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, Southampton, Tottenham, Stoke, Swansea, etc., if only we signed a 19 year old winger.
richardsfoxes Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Bags of potential from what ive seen, get him in.
HoustonFox Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 if this is true and we do get him for 4.7 mill than it will be one hell of a bargain. i will feel like we have just got away with daylight robbery. Dele Alli was just £5m plus add ons for Spurs. Would be in about the same price range for a high potential player of the same age
FrankieADZ Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 4.7mil, thats a steal, frankly im surprised its that low, i suspect another team to come in knowing our luck.
Hack Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 If there is any truth in our interest and or bid for that price can't go wrong. The future English version of Marhez!! Or poor mans Raheem Sterling
Steven Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 why? don't agents often get a tasty cut of a big transfer deal? surely he'd want him to be sold for £25mill to arsenal's reserves than for 4 mill to leicester city? The lower the price, the more choice he has amongst potential suitors.
Babylon Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Thought it was 5M back in January, before the new contract was signed. Were BC in danger of relegation then? - I can't remember. Otherwise 4.7 M is hard to believe. Maybe there's a big sell on clause at that price. Not that hard to believe really, look at Delph. Gray was coming into his last year and could easily have stipulated a low buy out clause or he wouldn't sign a new deal. What's better, losing the player for a tribunal fee or for nothing in a year. Or getting the player on a long contract where you either keep him for years or get £5m out of it at worst.
ian_marshall Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Not the most reliable source but seem to know a fair bit of info: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3212078/Leicester-City-talks-sign-Demarai-Gray-triggering-4-7m-buy-clause.html
simpmeister Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 From The Mirror Demarai Gray set for Leicester talks Demarai Gray’s performances for Birmingham City over the last 12 months have marked the young winger as one of the brightest stars outside the Premier League. Blues boss Gary Rowett rewarded the youngster last month with a new three year deal, hoping to ward off interested parties - Of which there are many. However, within the deal is a £4.7million release clause - Something Leicester City are looking to take advantage of. The Foxes have made an offer for Gray, to take him to the King Power Stadium, and are hoping to get a deal done quickly, although Liverpool could swoop - They have first option on the youngster.
Footballwipe Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 If we got Gray for the £4.7m reported, it could potentially be as much of a bargain as Mahrez was at £400k. Remember now with the league we're in we'll probably never pick up someone like Mahrez (or any hot prospect) for six figures, so to get Gray for just under £5m would be outstanding. I'm not holding out much hope, though, the sceptic in me thinks the story might have broken too soon, and now tails will be eagging elsewhere. Hope the cheesy shirt shot is imminent.
Ricey Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 The locals are reporting that the clause hasn't been met, no doubt as a result of contacts at the respective clubs. However, it's in the best interests of both clubs to deny it, even if it's true, to avoid alerting more clubs. Birmingham won't want to sell, so the least amount of clubs bidding gives them a better chance of retaining him.
Nick Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Why do Liverpool have 'first option' - is that contractual because he went through their youth academy or something or because Rowett and Rogers go dogging together, still?
Fox92 Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 As I said previously, good player and I'd want him here. Especially if less than £5million is true.
johnny the fox Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 Why do Liverpool have 'first option' - is that contractual because he went through their youth academy or something or because Rowett and Rogers go dogging together, still? it was part of the Ibe loan deal apparently
Nick Posted 27 August 2015 Posted 27 August 2015 it was part of the Ibe loan deal apparently Ah, thanks.
