weller54 Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Ulloa will start in place of kawasaki!.. He looks good and the Japanese lad has come off the boil..
FoxonMaui Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Would Definetely start Ulloa instead of Okazaki. He played his heart out against WHam and looks up to speed now. How the hell Claudio is going to pick a team on Saturday with so many excellent options!! Not a bad problem to have though How do you leave out Kingy and Fuchs also. Our second string actually put together the best 120 minutes of continuous football we have played all season against pretty much a WHam first team. What an amazing time to be a City fan. Rainieri's positive attitude and tactical nous is beginning to really show.
foxinsox Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Kante in midfield. The rest of the team looks fine, we have strength everywhere it seems. Trust the tinkerman! I want Kante to shred their possession game. Arsenal are at Spurs tonight, lets hope it goes to ET. We can win this.
les-tah Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Ulloa played out his skin last night to cement him place with Vardy saturday
Edingleyfox Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 After a great performance from Ulloa. Would you start him ahead of Okazaki? Yes I don't think Okazaki will get too much out of the Arsenal defence but Vardy playing off Ulloa looks more threatening.Hope Albrighton gets a start to feed the crosses in.
DennisNedry Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Huge selection headache for the 10 outfield players! I think we can all agree with dropping Inler but after that it's anybody's guess! I'd go: Kasper Schlupp Huth Morgan De Laet Albrighton Drinkwater Kante Mahrez Vardy Ulloa But then you have to fell sorry for King and Fuchs in particular, possibly Benny too, who will all feel as though they've done enough to start. It also sucks that De Laet is the best RB we can play, especially when we've got CBs and LBs on the bench deserving a start!
foxfanazer Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 So many players that deserve to start this game but they can't all play. Albrighton, King, Ulloa and Fuchs deserve it but who can you drop. Can't believe some people are suggesting dropping Drinkwater who imo has been one of our bet players so far this season
weller54 Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 The only position we're weak with is RB... Such a shame we didn't sign someone in the transfer window... It's a necessity in January.
Captain... Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 This is the first game against a top 4 side. It will be interesting to see if Ranieri takes a different approach, maybe a 4231 with more defensive minded full backs or just instructing RDL and Schlupp to sit back more. They have a lot of pace so I would expect him to match pace with pace at full back. It's a shame we can't clone Kante because 2 of him in the middle would be brutal, it is also a shame Inler isn't the ball winning playmaker we hoped for, at least not yet. I think Ulloa would give them a tough time up top, that would mean Mahrez, Vardy and either Dyer or Albrighton as the 3 behind him. Looking forward to this game a real test of where this team is right now and where it is going.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Can't decide whether I think we should play Vardy and Okazaki and put real pressure on their back 4 or play Ulloa and use him as a target man. Arsenal's defenders are good on the ball so I think they could easily deal with JV and Shinji bearing down on them, I'd be tempted to chuck Leo in and let him throw his weight around but then again he put in a big shift last night. Tricky one...
Webbo Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Fuchs looks worth a start but Schlupps pace is a big threat for us, there's an argument for both of them.
foxfanazer Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Okazaki hasn't done enough so far imo. Goes missing in games quite often so I'd love to see Leo get a game. Thought he was superb last night. If we played Ulloa with Albrighton and Fuchs putting in the sort of crosses they did last night then we could be on to a winner. Really tough team selection for CR though Kante is the first name on the team sheet!
Guest Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Anyone think this? Schmeichel RDL/Simpson Benalouane Huth Fuchs Mahrez King Kante Drinkwater Albrighton Vardy You're dropping yourself!
zak_lcfc Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Could Ranieri not play Fuchs at LB, Schlupps at LM and move Albrighton to RM where he would provide more cover to De Laet as he actually tracks back, it would also free Mahrez to play central where he can just do what he wants without worrying about the defensive side of things? I suppose with that Vardy has to play alone up top but unless we play with a back 3 which doesn't look likely there will be some compromise somewhere
Guest Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Fuchs looks worth a start but Schlupps pace is a big threat for us, there's an argument for both of them. Start Fuchs and bring on Schlupp second half if we're losing (again).
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Schmeichel De Laet Huth Morgan Fuchs Drinkwater Kante Dyer Mahrez Schlupp Vardy Subs: Schwarzer, Benalouane, Inler, King, Albrighton, Ulloa, Okazaki
kingcarr21 Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 This is a must win game. Why do you always write this? It wasnt funny the first time.
HighPeakFox Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Schmeichel, Fuchs, Mahrez, Vardy, Kante and 6 others. If he's going to play 4 at the back (and I think we have to assume he will be doing), then I'd like to see Schlupp on the left and Albrighton on the right, with Dyer also in the mix too as an impact sub. As someone else rightly points out, this does mean someone having to make way, and it's hard to know what's best up top
RowlattsFox Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 I'd be surprised if Inler doesn't play and I can see us playing a formation to have him in. Either a 3-man midfield or by playing Kante in a narrow wide role. Schlupp/Fuchs is a difficult choice. Both have strong attributes, may need Schlupp's pace to deal with their right hand side, including the threat of Bellerin. I'd be tempted to go with both. I think he'll go with: Kasper De Laet Morgan Huth Schlupp Kante Inler Drinkwater Mahrez Vardy Albrighton I would prefer: Kasper De Laet Morgan Huth Fuchs Drinkwater Kante Albrighton Mahrez Schlupp Vardy I'm not sure Ranieri is keen on Kante in a middle two from the start.
kingcarr21 Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Big headache now for Ranieri. I think he will pick, Kasper De Laet Huth Morgan Fuchs Dyer/Albrighton Kante Drinkwater Schluup Mahrez Vardy More of a 4-5-1 with Mahrez given a free role. King will be shattered after the shift he put in last night. Have him on the bench. This is really hard to pick a team as alot of players deserve to play. My team Kasper Huth Morgan Benny Albrighton Kante Drinkwater Schluup Mahrez Ulloa Vardy King and Fuchs are pushing for a start so will look to bring them on at some point. Its the sort of game that Dodoo could come on and grab the headlines with the winning goal. Ulloa needs to play and support Vardy imo.
st albans fox Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Could Ranieri not play Fuchs at LB, Schlupps at LM and move Albrighton to RM where he would provide more cover to De Laet as he actually tracks back, it would also free Mahrez to play central where he can just do what he wants without worrying about the defensive side of things? The Fuchs/ schlupp combo may wait till Norwich.
Merging Cultures Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 My team for Arsenal: KASPER RDL HUTH WES FUCHS ALBRIGHTON DD KANTE SCHLUPP MAHREZ VARDY
Koke Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Arsenal's possible line up Cech Bellerin Kos Gabriel Monreal Arteta Cazorla Ramsey Ozil Sanchez Giroud I hope Wenger starts with Walcott as a lone striker instead of Giroud, as Walcott is incredibly frustrating on his own. Also Coq being out is quite plus for us. Arteta is slower and not as good of a tackler as Coq. Arsenal are hit and miss. They could be brilliant and score 3 first half goals or they could be useless and capitulate and lose 3-0 to us. Flip a coin.
whitlock Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 Is Cazorla not banned for his sending off against Chelsea? Or does that count apply for the league cup game tonight?
Koke Posted 23 September 2015 Posted 23 September 2015 He'll miss tonight's game against Spurs and will be available on Saturday I think..
