The manager has already said he will make changes. I expect Inler to play however as he really needs to improve. Personally want to see the likes of Cain and the rest of the promising U21's on the bench.

Need to put a strong team out, IE. our Prem team. What's the point if we aint aiming to win a trophy?

we have some good players getting very little game time that could be needed, this is a chance to keep them sharp and ready should they be needed Saturday

I don't see how playing Mickey Mouse teams helps anyone stake a claim for a first team place. Kramaric and Okazaki for instance. Will we ever play a first team game with two small strikers and no physical presence whatsoever?

 

Frankly it's a pity we can't opt out of the Cups if we and others are not going to bother. I've been to too many such games but no more. Leicester City versus Burton Albion!  Why didn't they play the game behind closed doors?

 

There should be a law against making fans pay for that shit. You don't go into a shoeshop and buy third-hand boots. Or a bar and buy a pint which has been gargled first by someone else.

 

But we chopped and changed as if we were auditoning for a theatrical production and got swallowed and spat out by the Brewers. Television highlights would have been quite enough, thanks. Or even a night in the bar with Birchy.

 

Anyway it's clear what Ranieri thinks of the League Cup and possibly any other cuptie unless we can get free passage til the point we pass 40 league points. So I'll be giving it a miss along with lots of others until the unlikely event of us turning up, by default, on final day when we'll doubtless suddenly have a full house of dedicated supporters and a manager who can't overstate how important Cup football is to the soul of this club.

 

Ah, the gospel according to hypocrisy. Will it ever get a final full-stop?

You wouldn't call Vardy "physical"? 

Fifteen minutes on the other side might change your mind.

Play a strong side but test a couple of things:

- Fuchs and Schlupp as a partnership

- Kram

- RDL with someone more defensively minded in front of him

- Kante and Inler

- Benni to try to play a full game without getting booked

Who says we aren't going to bother? We'll make changes but that's inevitable. We have a good squad now, far better than the one available against Burton three years ago.

Play Okazaki and Kramaric, both appear to be lacking in confidence.

Bring Was and the Tunisian guy on.

Don't know who to play in midfield as this is our key area, really.

Oh, la-di-bloody-da - you drink in some posh pubs, don't you? lol

Seriously, though, I agree completely. Back in the day when Noah and I were young, you could guarantee seeing the first 11 in every cup game, and that's how it should be.

This is exactly the team I was going to post. 

 

Not saying I agree with it but it's the team I expect.
