Lineker's Left Foot Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Austin is surely bound for Bournemouth, what with him being quite local from there and they need a Callum Wilson replacement
filbertway Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Naismith would fit in brilliantly, seems to be a hardworking player, not particularly slow and pretty good with the ball at his feet. Also knows where the net is. Him behind Vardy would be lovely.
Freesolo Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Naismith is premier proven he knows the league inside out and would fit it to our team no problem, he has a better eye for goal that Ulloa and Oki whats his pace like?
foxes21 Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Naismith is a hard working player and would fit in with our work ethic, but he's not better then what we already have for that number 10 role imo. He has no stand out attributes, that our current crop don't already have to be honest. I reckon we really need a new right back and a back up keeper. Those would be my priority. Carrillo would be amazing, but could hurt the confidence of albrighton/dyer/schlupp as they'll fall further down the pecking order.
My Nads Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 If you have title aspirations, or even ambition to finish in the top four (which we should now have, as there is no better opportunity, than the present), we should strengthen the squad where we are weakest. Goal keeper: we need a quality (preferably international capped) back up for Kasper. If KS was to get injured, we'd be fooked Defence: Upgrade one of our two right backs. Upgrade the brilliant but Ageing Wasil with someone to truly challenge Huth/Morgan Number 10/atk mid: a world class gem required. And, recall Lawrence to back him up from the bench. There's a very good CB playing for Brighton, but can't remember his name. It's something like Dunk or Drunk.
steveherbe Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 There's a very good CB playing for Brighton, but can't remember his name. It's something like Dunk or Drunk. Is it Upson you are thinking of, he's supposed to be very good...... Think its Lewis Dunk you are referring to.
My Nads Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Is it Upson you are thinking of, he's supposed to be very good...... Think its Lewis Dunk you are referring Yeah, I was thinking of Kate Upson, but that's not unusual! Dunk looks good. Don't know if he plays as well in every game, but when I saw him, he looked good enough to start for most Premier League teams. We should be looking for players like that in the summer, because our CB's are getting old and we aren't very strong in that area.
ToeKneeHandCock Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Nor sure about Naismith but I'd like Mirallas who can't get a game for Everton either at the moment.
simon789us Posted 10 December 2015 Author Posted 10 December 2015 Would take bojan mirralas welbeck and fellani
WRS11 Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Why would we want to chase after another proven CDM with international experience when we've already got one rotting on the bench - so that both of them can exchange anecdotes of times past? Sorry for putting up some transfer speculation on the January transfer thread! Also I wouldn't say Inler and De Jong are similar players. De Jong being a pure destroyer, may win the ball back to set up the counter, and as yet we haven't seen enough of Inler to speculate he may even be hanging around longer than January!
Guest Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Austin is surely bound for Bournemouth, what with him being quite local from there and they need a Callum Wilson replacement why would he move to a team that could easily be relegated? He can go more or less anywhere he wants at the end of the season. I think he'll be trying to move to a team that is assured prem football.
Guest Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Is it Upson you are thinking of, he's supposed to be very good...... Think its Lewis Dunk you are referring to. Do we really want another Lewis...............................Ever?
eddylcfc Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Could try and hijack West Ham's transfer for Lanzini. They've got an option to sign him at the end of the season. If we match their offer then it's all down to his preference. He looks a class player with pace and skill
weller54 Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Would take bojan mirralas welbeck and fellani Good bench warmers!
MC Prussian Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Good bench warmers! To be fair, no matter whom we'd sign, he'd likely end up on the bench, anyway!
MPH Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 To me, the most important thing about any January signings is that we don't regress on the excellent work we have done so far in signing hungry players and start signing big time charlies on big wages. That could ruin everything and to me that is way more important ( the character/ attitude of the player) than any one specific name....
filbertstreet Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Do we really want another Lewis...............................Ever? Yes, just not his son
johnny the fox Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/leicester-13m-offer-would-almost-certainly-be-accepted-in-january offer tuppence halfpenny..and strike a match off the bald head of sporting's president..
Gerard Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 No way do we pay a significant sum for a player in January with 6 months left on his contract. Especially one who isn't match fit. More fool Sporting for rejecting our offer in the summer for a player with one year left on his contract.
hackneyfox Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 If we're serious contenders for a CL place then it's unlikely the big four will be selling to us.
Dan Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Thirteen million euros for someone out of contract in the summer? Get to fvck. They're in dreamland. I thought the whole reason it never went through last time was down to his own personal choice anyway.
Daz93 Posted 10 December 2015 Posted 10 December 2015 Wahbi Khazri. Playing well for Bordeaux and within range of us I'd say. Can take a set piece too.
Hack Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 Callum Wilson Would be the perfect guy to play along side Vardy and suit our fast counter attacking style.
