HitchinFox Posted 31 October 2015 Posted 31 October 2015 WBA fans after the game blaming officials and genuinely thinking they were the better side - "we earned at least a point" - priceless. I love this team. I love that every other team (or rather, every one of their fans) is still of the opinion that they should automatically take three points of us – and when they get spanked, they get upset. Very satisfying.
Vlad the Fox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 the speed Vardy showed for his goal was bloody scary !! it was like watching a sports car going through the gears . Reminded me of how Lineker used to spring the offside leaving defenders trailing in his wake desperation etched across their faces as they give what they know is a futile chase.
ChrisFilter Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Well my point was quite obvious. I'm not even going to get into a childish debate with you. It's not childish. I'd choose not to wear a red poppy. I'd insist on a white one. The booing of McLean was pathetic as well. There are plenty of WWII veterans who don't support the whole 'our glorious dead' nonsense, my grandad included.
Dan Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 They really have got the Pulis mentality if they thought they deserved anything from that game. They were absolutely garbage. The fact they'll stay up says more for this league than them.
lgfualol Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 What a result. Just watched the goals. Incredible team, incredible players. Wish I could have watched the game! Vardy is life.
Kitchandro Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Just seen the highlights, where are all these penalties they should have had? I saw some shirt pulling from the corner, ooh that's new, I'm sure if you had a look at every one of our corners their players wouldn't be seen doing exactly the same thing? No, you can't have that. Next. I saw Fletcher throwing himself to the ground after slight aerial contact with Huth. No arms were involved, it was a minor collision. You're not having that either. I also saw them win a dodgy penalty. Yeh there was contact, but it's the referees job not to give penalties when a player dives after contact. It's his job to know the difference between a dive an a foul. The referee against Palace last week knew that. This week he's fallen for a dive and I could tell that at the time. And yes our 2nd goal was marginally offside, yet there was one wrongly ruled out for offside at 0-0. I'm getting a bit tired of our fans saying we're getting lucky with decisions; like last week it was nothing of the sort. People are getting apologetic about us being bloody great. We don't have to be biased against us as a misguided attempt to stay humble in the face of so much reason to be arrogant. WYS!
Dan Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 It was pathetically biased if it's true we had a goal chalked off ourselves. Mahrez was actually onside, their penalty that was given was soft as shite though they were unlucky to not get the one from Huth. It's strange though how many decisions are going our way this year that weren't last year. Is it just a co-incidence or is there something a bit more sinister?
fazzyfox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 So Tony Pulis thinks that any shirt pulling in the box should result in a penalty and a sending off. That's Tony Pulis formerly of Stoke City. The same Tony Pulis who managed Ryan Shawcross for years. What a Joker, believers in Karma rejoice, what comes around goes around, live by the sword die by the sword, reap what you sow etc and how he could say those words without seeing the irony is hilarious. Bastian of fair play who disapproves of physical contact...Saint Tony Pulis, ha ha ha ha, joint prat of the day with Moanrinho.
Merging Cultures Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Watching the match this morning. We do look brilliant going forward. After they scored their first goal we had a passage of play that was sublime. Really enjoyable game.
justfoxes Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 We were FOOKING awesome yet again and may we stay FOOKING awesome for a hell of a long time to come !!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Nice to hear "fcuk the ira" so loudly on the radio. Watching MOTD, Mahrez looked just offside and Huth's challenge was a penalty
The_77 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Ulloa and Vardy do not work as a front 2 without a number 10 to link the play. The fact that neither of them are comfortable/competent at dropping off the front and linking with the midfield stunted our play through the middle in a way which doesn't happen with Okazaki in there. That was the duo that was on the field when Leicester absolutely dominated the first half, when a sure goal was cancelled by a bad offside call, when Vardy hit the post, and when Ulloa had a beautiful header (that none of our other strikers could have won) saved, right?
foxinsox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I don't think Huth's was a penalty, just a challenge for the same ball. The Albion player did not have it under his control. As for shirt-pulling at corners! we could have a dozen penalties at each end evey match. After the farce at Anfield and the like last year good to see decisions going our way. I think that our defence does need a bit more discipline though. Other managers eager to get back in the game are going to see Fuchs and Huth as ways back in. We could do with better defending at setpieces too. The defence and getting our other strikers scoring awe where we need to improve. 18/23 goals in the prem from Vardy and Mahrez is both an achievement and a vulnerability. Get Austin in (swap for Kramaric?).
Guest Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Shirt pulling and holding at corners has become a disgrace throughout the league. Needs to be stamped out, happens at EVERY corner these days.
car1os Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Callum McManaman's a greasy little shit isnt he? Just seen his post-match interview on Sky, when asked about the penalty he won he said he "hadn't seen a replay but I went past one and felt contact so I went down". First off, if it was a penalty why would you need to see a replay of someone fouling you? Also, why should leaping into the air, doing somersaults and landing in a heap mean you deserve a penalty? I feel sorry for refs really, players go down in the box far too easily now and it can't be easy to spot the true fouls from the exaggerated contacts / blatant dives. I agree on balance WBA probably deserved at least one penalty from the 3 shouts but we deserved the win for our forward-thinking and attacking play, so 3-2 is a fair result I reckon.

I never said booing was an issue I booed him myself because be was playing against my team Bigoted/racist shouting should never go unchallenged , as you say some people just have no stop button I'm Irish and proud to be , but I love my football and City has been by home club for 20 years now I think it bothered me because I had to explain to my little girl why that nonce was being abusive to Irish people Her RESPONCE "That's so stupid of him to shout that Daddy" Perfect really

Captain... Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Talking of Mahrez's goal being offside, which it was, you should also point out that Vardy gets fouled in the box in the build up, a more blatant pen than any of the West Brom ones. We do have to be a little smarter in the box, I don't think anywhere penalties, obviously, but we are giving the ref an opportunity to make a decision, and that is risky.

Noticed that too - if mahrez is offside then its a pen and a red card instead (gawd knows what reponse that would have elicited from TP!) MOTD straightened up the angle and Riyad was just about level - attacker gets the benefit of the doubt.
Guest ttfn Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 That was the duo that was on the field when Leicester absolutely dominated the first half, when a sure goal was cancelled by a bad offside call, when Vardy hit the post, and when Ulloa had a beautiful header (that none of our other strikers could have won) saved, right? Their link up play is poor. Between them they completed 3 passes to each other in the 70-odd minutes they were on together (the same as Okazaki managed with Vardy in 45 minutes at Southampton when he was hauled off at half time). We certainly did dominate the first half but the incidents you mention include a "goal" West Brom had long stopped playing for and a ball down the inside left channel that came about from Vardy being at the point of the attack, on the shoulder of the last defender, just as he has been all season (I don't remember the header). And this is exactly the point you appear to have misunderstood or misinterpreted - I don't like the gaping hole which appears between our midfield and attack when we play with two #9s in a 4-4-2. Neither Ulloa or Vardy appear to have the imagination or touch to play in that role and whilst Vardy is in this sort of form I'm uncomfortable with us accommodating Ulloa. Yesterday Ulloa didn't help particularly at set pieces and I felt tempted us into too many early crosses across against three big defenders. This is probably Ranieri's fault as much as Ulloa's to be fair. Although you could argue that Ulloa's presence attracts full backs as well as centre backs and allowed Mahrez to sneak in twice I suppose. We still comfortably beat West Brom so for me to have a complaint about how we use our striking options goes to show just how far we've come. Another decent display against a really unambitious side so for us to come away with 3 goals is really good.
Babylon Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Yesterday Ulloa didn't help particularly at set pieces We seemed to be using him differently, under Pearson he would almost always be on the near post to head away the balls. But yesterday he seemed to be more in the mix being asked to man mark one of their players. Just something I noticed.

I'm surprised that Ranieri didn't use him there given the success of last season.
