Crazy Stat Time!

Recommended Posts

Vardy's last ten games for Leicester P10 W1 D4 L5

The one we won was against West Ham when he went off before half time.

Vardy out!

Only joking before anyone takes it seriously, that really is a crazy stat, good answer if anyone else tells you "we'd struggle if Vardy got injured"

We’ve been playing Wolves competitively since 1906.

This was our first ever double blank set of games!

(ie. both games in the same season ending 0-0)

Interesting. Thought Ronaldo would have got more than just 5 league goals against his Barca side?!

Used these tables to illustrate a point in the Kasper thread but it's worth looking at them again to see just how well we're doing this season:

We're actually better defensively and in attack - 1 fewer goal conceded and scored 7 more and with a better goal difference of +8 (though the Southampton game skewers that slightly), though 4 points worse off, which actually in 2016 would still have put us top!

Interesting to look at how the other teams have fared too.

The other thing to consider in the 6 games in the second half of this season we've played Liverpool, Chelsea and Wolves away. 2 points from those games is about par.

He scored a fair few in CL against Bayern but league goals obviously was only a couple of seasons prob. Not gonna score hattricks and braces for fun against Barca

Not sure about that statistic, it says on his list of saves one was at Burnley in 2015- but that hit the post and went wide, didn't it?

Yep - otherwise it would have been a corner .....and we wouldn’t have scored the winner ......and we may not have stayed up..... and and and ....

Four wins in February since promotion in 2014. Had two managerial sackings in this month (and a possible third that never happened with Pearson).

Hopefully March brings the usual good form.

That includes the league winning season where we had a rubbish run of form in January and February.

Only 6 points off our points tally at the same point this season.

Hamza Choudhury: win ratio -43.4%
As the understudy to one of the league’s most underrated players, Hamza Choudhury has understandably struggled to have the impact of injured teammate Wilfred Ndidi. The youngster has started eight league matches this season and Leicester have only won two of them – against Sheffield United and West Ham.

Leicester with Choudhury starting: two wins in eight games (25%)
Leicester without Choudhury: 13 wins in 19 games (68.4%)

We've scored 4 goals or more in 5 league games this season.

Surely our highest in all the time playing in the Premier League?

The first time in the top flight since 1967/68 that we've scored 4 or more against an opponent home and away. 4-0 tonight, 4-1 at Villa Park

  • Marc Albrighton now has as many Premier League assists as Riyad Mahrez for Leicester City (27). Only Jamie Vardy (28) and Steve Guppy (34) have more for the club.

Vardy's selflessness and creativity is underappreciated

If Spurs carry on their season at their current average (1.4 points per game) and we score 0 points for the rest of the season, we will finish level on points with them.

Beautiful sight.

Must say, Brendan got his game plan spot on for this. Completely killed any of Villa's attacking threat.

Yep, mentioned in the match thread of Albrighton thread that Albrighton's inclusion gave defensive cover for Pereira against Grealish. Grealish then moved centrally to get more of the ball then met the big bad Wilf.

Nullify Grealish and you nullify Villa.

Ricardo never had his best attacking game, certainly a tactic Rodgers played to not allow Grealish on the ball. Albrighton can always be trusted to help out at the back too. Worked to perfection it seems
