Wes Morgan, Robert Huth and Kasper Schmeichel have all personally contacted Vardy since Friday, when Arsenal activated the £20 million release clause in his Leicester contract, to try to convince him to stay at the King Power Stadium. I'd rather read that Kante & Mahrez had contacted him and begged him to stay,
MikeyT Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 http://talksport.com/football/arsenal-speculation-will-not-distract-jamie-vardy-england-duty-euro-2016-sam-allardyce England striker Jamie Vardy will NOT be distracted by ongoing speculation over a possible move to Arsenal, believes Sam Allardyce. The Leicester star is reportedly weighing up his options with the Gunners understood to have triggered the £20million release clause in his Foxes contract. Vardy, who scored 24 goals in Leicester’s stunning Premier League win, is likely to play a big part in the Three Lions’ Euro 2016 campaign, which kicks off against Russia in Marseille on Saturday. But Allardyce insists the frontman will not have his head turned by the reports, given his journey from non-league to England selection. “I think Jamie Vardy is experienced enough to not let it affect him,” the Sunderland manager told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. “The fact he has been selected by England for the Euros will be one of his main interests. I know a big move to Arsenal will be something he has to think about, but I don’t think that will affect his focus after the journey he’s taken to get into the squad. “I think he’ll be OK and if Roy Hodgson asks Vardy to play, I think he’d say he’s 100 per cent ready.” While many expected the top clubs to plunder Leicester of their star men, Arsenal’s move for Vardy was a surprise for many. So much of Leicester’s goalscoring success this season has come from Vardy’s ability to run onto long balls from the back – an unflavoured tactic of the Gunners’ pass-master boss Arsene Wenger. Allardyce, however, believes the 29-year-old can thrive at the Emirates - if the Arsenal stars play to his strengths. “Vardy has fitted in at so many clubs throughout his career, so I don’t think it would be a problem for him,” he added. “The problem will be whether the rest of the Arsenal players play to his strengths. That is very important, and they have the players to do it. “Arsenal will do it in a different way to Leicester. Leicester play it over a bit more direct from the back, but Arsenal can play him in from midfield areas with the quality of players they have. “So I can’t see it being a problem for them, or for Vardy.”
Finnegan Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 she's attention seeking, 100%. and if it's offensive that I agree that she 'seems that type' then so be it. be offended. "nothing ever came of anyone being offended" - steve hughes Well, actually, it's not outside the realms of possibility in the social media age that a decision such as the Vardy family's could be influenced by abuse aimed at them over the Internet. It may seem benign to begin with but then you consider that even twenty odd years ago, a fairly intelligent, rational and mature football manager held in high regard came close to leaving the club on the back of negative feedback from the fans. It's commonly believed that Martin O'Neill carried a chip on his shoulder about that for a long time afterwards. I'd like to think it's unlikely that Jamie Vardy would make his decision based on idiots on the internet but it's not completely implausible. If I was @@Mark or @@davieG, I'd probably be tidying up this thread a little regardless of how much of a ballache it'd be.
tsintskaro Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Can we knock off the misogynistic shit about his wife, please? If you've lost faith in one of our players, feel free to express it within the confines of good taste. What his wife does on her own social media is her own business. If you don't like it, stop being a complete weirdo and following her? dont be ultra feminist here Shes attention seeker model, that's obvious dont know what to answer about misogyny

Carl the Llama Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Ah but is it a few final nuggets of the day or an early one for the next day ? Think this through properly before posting next time llama. Apologies to those following the story; although widely reported as the last visit of Monday the 6th of June, I can confirm that it was in fact poo number 1 (and 2 and 3) of Tuesday the 7th. With regards to speculation about the delivery of any further solid waste deposits today: I can't give any certain information at the time being but the pundits are saying the hatch will likely open some time between 12:30 and 13:00 local time. More to follow.

I don't think reading this thread is going to impact his decision, can you imagine how many tweets his had on Twitter that are abusive and negative. We live in a different age now to compare Martin O'neils era, although i don't personally condone the abuse. I wonder on the flip side if Man U offered 150k a week and a massive signing on fee, he would say wow that is a good deal but remember that abuse we got from man u fans i'm not going there. Apparently not if we are to believe what the press write about being offered to certain clubs. Although people seem to be digressing on the thread, the title may need editing vardy/poo thread
Fox 4 Life Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 This is going to drag on until after the euros I think
leicesterseddon Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I'm still a bit surprised that Arsenal are willing to spend £20m+ on a 29-year-old whose game relies heavily on pace.
HighPeakFox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 If I had to bet on it, I'd lay money on the decision having been made already. I expect all parties involved have agreed to keep schtum until after the Euros to avoid possible issues.
Gunchowder Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 If I had to bet on it, I'd lay money on the decision having been made already. I expect all parties involved have agreed to keep schtum until after the Euros to avoid possible issues. I'm sure that is the case exactly.
Jimothy Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 If I had to bet on it, I'd lay money on the decision having been made already. I expect all parties involved have agreed to keep schtum until after the Euros to avoid possible issues. Keeping schtum is creating issues. If the decisions been made and they let it be known, whichever ways he's going we can all move on a get on with watching the Euros rather than speculating over his future. You've got it the wrong way round imo.

If only the lad knew what he's putting us all through!
Guest LCFC_World Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Lets be honest, Vardy has had the season of his life and the chance of him repeating that is very small. Feel he will bag around 10-15 goals next season. Remember, teams have worked him out now and he won't win as many penalties as he has been winning in the past. Would still love him to stay.
Fox92 Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I'm still a bit surprised that Arsenal are willing to spend £20m+ on a 29-year-old whose game relies heavily on pace. If they think it'll take something like this for them to actually win the league then I kind of understand. Only a few years ago Alex Ferguson saw Manchester United needed goals to win a title so he went and bought a 29 year old Robin Van Persie for £20mill+ who fired them to the league title.

I expect all parties involved have agreed to keep schtum until after the Euros to avoid possible issues. Possibly. Still unbelievably stupid timing from Arsenal. I get they are a selfish "big club" with an automatic sense of entitlement but what were they thinking, launching all of this, days before the Euros?
