HankMarvin Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 For 30 mil probably I did think it was a bit strange when the top come out with this on May 5th after securing the title Jamie Vardy 'turned up to training drunk' and used to 'drink every single day' when he first joined Leicester
katieakita Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Claudio has a war chest, we have Champions football to look forward to, we have owners that are 2nd to none in the world, the club have delivered on their promises time and time again, people will go, you have ups and you have downs. There is no reason to suggest we wont have a very strong squad next season. For all we know the club is selling Vardy because we have a £40 million bid accepted for Kane. We keep our cards close to our chests without all the hype and hysteria some clubs seem to adopt. The club has been running to a plan, no player will ever be bigger than the club and if they go so be it
ARM1968 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If he goes he goes. But Arsenal? He'll spend 70% of every season injured.

Buce Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 It's being reported the José has made Wilshire his no. 1 target. Kind of ironic.

dannythefox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Somethings gone on behind closed doors you don't bid for a player 3 days before he's due to fly to the euros if you don't think you can get the deal done before he goes. Must of been in the pipeline for a while.
Koke Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Koeman is going Everton, God feel how shit Saints fans must feel. Year after year of managers and players getting poached.... We're in meltdown over one player. True. And they have successfully managed to rebuild their side 2-3 times despite losing players and managers. That's why I'm not too hung up on this. If Southampton can rebuild their team then we can replace one player.
FoxFromCoalville Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 don't know if it's been mentioned yet so apologies if it has but they reckon the fee is more like 29-30m, not the 20m that was initially suggested. as much as he's done for the club you just can't turn down money like that for a striker that's nearly thirty
kingcarr21 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Why are people worried? If he goes he goes. So be it. I would be disappointed but accept it. He has made a massive impact at our club in winning the premier league. He will always be a hero. I reckon its all media hype anyway. Wait until its official before moaning about it.
AmyLGK Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 This all makes me so, so sad! Actual tears are forming in my eyes
SecretPro Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Just hope either way this is done quickly. Can't be arsed with a long running saga.
Tielemans63 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Still think this might work out well for us. I'd much rather he stayed but if he goes then who's to say there isn't an absolute pearler of a signing waiting in the wings? It's worth remembering that JV was a very, very rough diamond when he joined, our coaching staff did an amazing job on him and can do it again. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 ame="st albans fox" post="3906968" timestamp="1465066964"] He's set for life, anyone with a remotely decent accountant will not have to worry about money ever again. Even living a fairly lavish lifestyle. He could buy a new house every month to rent out and have a property empire if he wanted. That requires effort. Where as the 40,000 extra a week at arsenal requires non and is the equivalent of renting 160 £1000 a month houses. Different levels of loaded babs, no matter how much you've got there's always more to aim for.
weller54 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 True. And they have successfully managed to rebuild their side 2-3 times despite losing players and managers. That's why I'm not too hung up on this. Guest CityFan 06 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 True. And they have successfully managed to rebuild their side 2-3 times despite losing players and managers. That's why I'm not too hung up on this. If Southampton can rebuild their team then we can replace one player. As much as I would love Vardy to stay and commit his future to us. You are correct. We can use Southampton as an inspirational club to us. An inspiration as to how we can still be a success despite potentially missing some key players/one key player. If we can keep our foundations such as our scouting network and coaching staff, I feel we'll be ok.
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I know I'm clutching at straws here but his odds to go to Arsenal were about 1/6 earlier, they are now in to 2/7. Clearly a bit of money being placed on him to stay at Leicester
HankMarvin Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Arsenal are hopeful of completing the deal before the end of the weekend, with a medical set to take place on Sunday. And when quizzed about the transfer Gazzetta dello Sport say is worth as much as €38million (£29.8million) the Italian responded: "Yes, it's all true." Vardy, 29, wants a four-year deal worth around £120,000-a-week which is double his current wage at Leicester.
fox_favourite Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 True. And they have successfully managed to rebuild their side 2-3 times despite losing players and managers. That's why I'm not too hung up on this. If Southampton can rebuild their team then we can replace one player. We have the backroom staff to do it. Walsh signing a 2yr contract was a massive signing!! If we need scouts to find a suitable replacement, we have the men to do it. Try to keep the faith. I also don't like to hear his wife getting grief from "fans". Whatever you think of her, she is still a human being who, in this situation, hasn't done anything to deserve the abuse! Fans they are not!!!

An inspiration as to how we can still be a success despite potentially missing some key players/one key player. If we can keep our foundations such as our scouting network and coaching staff, I feel we'll be ok. Pretty much. They also lost two managers in Pochettino first then Koeman, and a host of players. And each season they still managed to rebuild their side and improve on the previous season. Both their scouting and our scouting are very good so I'm confident we will be fine.
WinslowFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Wonder what the other players make of it and are saying to him? Surely they will feel betrayed themselves
GaelicFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Gassetto della sport reporting Claudio has confirmed Arsenal are working a deal for Vardy
