Webbo Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Not really fair to call Stones when he was playing for a manager that didn't believe in defending. He's a young lad with talent and time to develop. Do all the people who normally bum Guardiola think he's clueless all of a sudden?
RowlattsFox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 A lot of money spent on 'potential' today!!! Actually think Stones will develop into a good player but its still ridiculous. Not watched much of Pogba but I'm yet to see him play particularly well.
AKCJ Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 I think Stone's will one day be England's best defender (note, not best ever). I think Man City have overspent but I do think that Stones will be a solid player. Note that he used to play between Coleman and Funes Mori. At City he'll play between Sagna and Kompany. It'll be a big difference.
Wymsey Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Jesus Christ. If we spent £100m+ like Man City have done all over the park, most of us would expect top-2 and some domestic cup win. Even with what they bought, Guardiola won't find this league as a breeze. Pogba could fall in the same category as Sterling, big money move but not as effective at new club as the ones before.
Tuna Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Apparently man city are also signing Aden flint from bristol city to play alongside stones...
Guest Col city fan Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Nearly fifty mill for Stones and 87 mill for Pogba!! It's mad, it's mad...it's madder than mad Jack McMad, winner of last year's Mr Madman competition!

TheSomersetFox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Near enough £100m on Stones and Sterling. Blimey
lgfualol Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 How much have Man City spent on defenders to partner their crippled captain? £150m? Cant wait for Pep to have them passing the ball sideways for 80 minutes, Stones falls over trying to do a cruyff turn and Vardy scores.

Doing dragbacks and passing it across your own six yard box when attackers are onrushing is brainless and shit defending no matter who the manager is.

The Horse's Mouth Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Stones for that is ridiculous, but him working with Pep is probably the best thing to happen for England.
Max Power Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Everton just seem be chucking huge fees at mid table clubs. Bolasie, Williams. In for Bony and Kone as well

Max Power Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Really is no value in buying from England. Get away with one signing maybe
StanSP Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 £12m for Williams isn't too bad. That sounds about right for the quality you're getting. £30m for Bolasie is absurd though.
sdb Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 I think the last 24 hours have made me even prouder to be a Leicester supporter.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Bolasie has the same record last season as Jon Walters. Deary me Walshy has lost the plot.
ajthefox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Clearly no-one has learnt from us. Two horrendous deals for Stones and Bolasie. I bet Walsh is loving his new team spunking £30m on Bolasie.
Tuna Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 All of Walsh's targets are the ones linked with us. Gueye, Bony, Bolasie, Kone all linked this sumer.
lgfualol Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Thank **** he left really if we would have ended up with those lot. Palace fans I've seen think half of that amount for bolasie would have been a bit too much. Good for 2 games a season.
Tuna Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Palace signed Townsend, who is better than Bolasie in the summer. They've still got Zaha, Sako and Puncheon. Good business at 30 mill, 27 years old and for a winger in 3 years time he'll go like Shaun Wright Phillips when he loses his pace.
ajthefox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 All of Walsh's targets are the ones linked with us. Gueye, Bony, Bolasie, Kone all linked this sumer. Not necessarily. We've been linked with no-end this summer, at least half of which are clearly just rumours. Also for anyone in the PL, it's not like Koeman won't be aware of them. Everton aren't going to go for Kone if Koeman isn't interested just because Walsh wants him. Besides, isn't DoF a different role anyway?
