Red away Kit 2016?

Recommended Posts

Not a fan of red, nothing to do with Forest, I just didn't like the red shirts we've had. I would've liked a black with blue sash shirt for when we play in Europe this year, something a bit distinctive.

Also a reminder that we picked up 1 point from the games we played in the red kit in 2014/15, losing every game bar the draw at Everton.

yeah but every time we lost it sort of didn't matter because our kit was SO NICE

You want red, go support forest, simple. Red and Leicester don't go end of. Sick of hearing about ' nice red shirts'... if you're a true blue then you know it's just not worn

"You're not a real fan if you like the colour red"

Derby play in white, should we never have a white kit either?

not sure how to post an image but this is from the 2016/17 Genesis teamwear page but its a training top, has a similar stripe pattern though so i wouldn't be surprised if it was a slightly modified version of it.

was hoping for black/blue sash again like this template maybe.... obviously colours swapped and a lighter blue, they missed a trick i think..

Red teams wear red and blue teams wear blue. This pretty much goes back to Football's origins and it has something to do with accessibility or cheap dye or something like that. Since then it's become tradition, blue and red are the most prevelent colors for home kits and those teams don't wear the opposite color away. Chelsea, Everton, Man City, and us are blues. Arsenal, Burnley, Liverpool, United, Southampton, Stoke, Boro, and Sunderland are reds. It's team identity most clubs will have a nickname associated with the color of their shirt, even if they call themselves the claret's, they're still reds. There are only a couple weird clubs like Palace that try to pull off both.

We're the blues, not the reds and we'd wear red while visiting blue teams which makes it even odder routing for the reds at the blues when we're the blues, not the reds.

You do realise that every team you have mentioned there have at one point or another used the opposit colour as their away/ 3rd kit.

They look like Cardiff and Spurs shirts.

IMO away kits should literally just be the reverse of your home kit, but in instances like this season maybe not, unless they replaced the gold as yellow; then for third kits just a complete change. Red doesn't appeal to me and would prefer as someone has said either black with blue sash or Amber, but it doesn't really bother me. As long as home colours are blue/white blue/gold can't complain. That being said if someone asked any Leicester fan whether they could win the champions league for definite winning with a mr blobbyesque pink with yellow dots kit, 100% would say yes I suspect
