Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Look, this is like when you break up with your girlfriend, you know one where you're not entirely happy about it, but you see it coming and don't really have a choice. Don't let her see you sad, don't give her anything to smile about. Show her you're better than her, smile at her, say how nice it is to see her. Show her what's she's missing out. It'll wind her up more than you'll ever know. So Leicester fans, applaud him, be nice to him and show him how we think our new girlfriend is better (Amartey).
MC Prussian Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 For all that it's worth, he should receive a hero's salute if it were up to me. Fair enough, some will argue they can't forgive him for "betraying" us and jumping ship at the first or second chance, but we'll probably never know why he went to Chelsea (apart from getting higher wages, probably), so he should be remembered for what he did for us while he was at Leicester City. How big an influence he was or reason why we did so well during our title-winning campaign remains debatable up to this day. I think he was one of many excellent individuals who put the collective before their own needs. I'm not an overly big fan of holding grudges. He made his choice on his own or influenced by his family or agent. Again, whom am I to judge him for that? We'll also likely never know whether he took the Twitter pictures down on his own, whether it was his agent, a friend of his, a prank gone badly wrong or simply a mishap. Focus on applaud him, thank him for what he did for us. I'd say this would hurt him even more than simply booing. That way, he'd at least recall how adored and respected he was at Leicester and what he's possibly missing out on now. Once the whistle goes, it's an entirely different matter, mind.

Would like to see Amartey go in hard on him in a tackle. Not a leg breaker as can't bring myself to hate Kante even though he left for another team in the prem but just knock him up in the air a bit. Like a your gone and I'm the man now kind of tackle Well Wasyl could feature....
Unabomber Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Wish Amartey was my girlfriend. Prob be much less drama than my ex. Anyway I'll be booing the shit out of Kante from my sofa tomorrow.

I look back and he didn't even look like he wanted to be here. He don't show us respect so why should we? Thats my opinion. - We're all allowed one. Did he really do that? Blimey, I was aware that he only really signed for us as neither Arsenal (not proven at Prem level) nor Real (not a big enough name) came in for him so I was accepting of the 'talk to' clause if he performed - which he did. But to eradicate all association of us makes me happy he's not here despite missing him. At least we don't have to airbrush him out of Vardy's party pictures!
easilee Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 If he plays and his name is called out....Cheer for him like the champion he was for us. But after that...RIP THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF HIM!!!
Charl91 Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Not gonna cheer or boo him. Just indifference. (Even if I'm dying inside. N'golo! )
Donut Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Why should he even get a reaction anyway? Not our player anymore. Won league with us, owes us nothing, weve gone our seperate ways, move on.

I wish him well! I watched his highlights from last season yesterday. They're still amazing. I think this is significant. We know what he can do and what he cannot do. Our players have played against him in training, Claudio understands him completely, Chelsea do not. We need to be wary of concentrating on him while neglecting their other midfielders. That is their strength, not defence or strikers.
easilee Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Just a little recognition for the commitment he showed in games for us, and the resulting and inevitable vitriol for disbanding the band of brothers. In a sentimental but unforgiving way.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Might not play, which I would certainly be happy with. Conte will rotate some players, I'm sure. Made the club £25 mill and helped to do something we all thought impossible, in just 1 year, so I can see both sides.
Guest bennytwohats Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 This thread makes me embarrassed to be a football fan just because I might be associated with some of the bitter, butthurt people that are so angry that a bloke left one job for a different job.

adejo92 Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 I can understand why people are unhappy at him leaving due to greed and completely erasing Leicester from his memory. However.. We still have a premier league title and he played a massive factor in us winning such trophy. I wont be on my knees hailing him but i certainly wont be booing him.
Fox seen in Norwich Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 He contributed to us winning the league so People cheering him I assume are doing so based on an appreciation for that. But why boo him? We had him under contract, he expressed his wish to leave for his own reasons and we got £30m+ for compensation... That's how it works, people move clubs. However I'm sure he won't give a shit either way
Wymsey Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Was a struggle settling in the city. Had missed wife a bit, who apparently was/is a regular visitor to London. I suppose being comfortable in an environment you are content in will make you happier, but seems that current below-par personal performances at a new club is the downer here.
HighPeakFox Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 FWIW, I reckon Kante was leaving way before we were told, and I reckon the club knew it too.
Leicester_Numan Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 I've got no problem with people booing him because of the way he left, i disliked it as much as everyone else. I unfollowed him on Twitter as soon as he'd erased all evidence of ever being a Leicester player but can you all really not bring yourselves to applaud him for his part in WINNING THE PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE? It's a bit childish if you can't. You can rip the shit out of him afterwards if you feel so inclined.
Ozwin Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 Adidas had their greedy mitts all over it just like the Pogba deal. Doubt Kante had much say in any of it tbh.
Sionnach gorm Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 How about not giving a bloody crap either way. Let the people express themselves the way they want to. I personally got over him the day he signed for Chelsea. I support our team, not the players that were.
mozartfox Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 As long as he has handed back the Mini, he deserves a good reception.
z-layrex Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 I think the man helped our club achieve something we never even dreamed of seeing within our lifetimes. I will always admire him, and that's an understatement. But, I cannot help but feel betrayed. The move to that soulless plastic club full of mercenaries really did get to me. Could never boo him though.

Lambert09 Posted 20 September 2016 Posted 20 September 2016 I dont understand our mentality, he will get booed but someone like Hammond who achieved very little would get a welcome clap. He achieved the biggest thing in English football and made our dreams come true, he completed his mission. You've got to show more respect for that.
